Re: something strange
Thank you to everyone for your congratulations (sorry I'm a bit late in getting back on here) - we are due to depart the UK at the end of April (but we are travelling throughout the UK for three weeks in March first) and things are getting a bit manic now. If anyone wants to follow our blog please b...

Re: Things we collect
Emails have really thrown me - I have a drawer full of old letters, but now I communicate by email, I can't keep them in the same way, and I get very confused about how to keep them, especially given the tendency of computers to crash and lose everything! :? :o Ah, now they are in different folders...

Re: Things we collect
Oh some old memories there - bookmarks in shoe boxes and buttons and books and whatnots. However with our plans to downsize (into a Land Rover Defender while we travel the world) we've been eBaying and Boot Fairing like mad. And it's all going, going, gone  (still got all my DVP mags tho' :) )

Re: creating a website
Foot of mine is not shot in because in clever being I gave up - and used Serif as recommended by my hosting provider - it's now live at www.aitch-sws.co.uk - not stunning I know but LIVE and that's miracle enough for now - so thanks all for your encouragement.

Re: something strange
I still have my original file with all the printed copies of the solutions to the books as well as the subsequent puzzles that followed when publication ended. I've checked some of the puzzles against my copies and they are the same. If you were looking at the last map puzzle (post book puzzles) the...

Re: something strange
I must admit I was too nervous to post when I first found it live. Came straight over here instead. Wonder how long it's been live for? And why?

something strange
I've just been clearing out my rather lengthy multiple sub-folders favourites bar and clicked on my old DVP link. Now the strange thing is that the last time I clicked on that link the site had been closed down. Today it was all there, right up to March 2009. Just had a nostalgic read of some of the...

Re: Help for an IT illeterate
  ... a whole conversation between three grown men about something called a dongle ... Have only just discovered this thread (sorry to be a bit late) but I was reading it fine (having heard of dongles and got over the initial laughter back then) but your comment here brought back the tear...

Re: creating a website
More thanks to sparkout
And MBH, I learned so much on DVP forum about HTML just by the work I did in putting together the chronology and other postings. It's what gave me the nerve to want to attempt doing my own (simple) website.

Re: creating a website
Brilliant and many thanks - that pretty much made sense - off to do some work on what I've got next. Be back again!! I'm still quite vague on the 'posting' bit but I need to do some more work on what I've got so far first.

Re: creating a website

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
thanks for the congratulations - the wedding was booked for 12th september but we've just moved it to 5th - cos the 12th clashed with a land rover show we want to go to - not into footie here but for a comparison that's akin to clashing with the world cup !!

Re: creating a website
Hi MBH Yeah, it's nice to see some familiar names again. I've been quite busy working and got into another work related forum (that's not as chatty and friendly as this one). Although work has eased off (too much) still really haven't got time to get back into puzzling even now but like being around...

creating a website
Hi Can anyone help? I've had a web address for about 18 months now but only got as far as receiving emails via this address, never managed to get an actual site posted. I know the concept of how HTML works, thanks in part to my time on DVP site :) and having followed some instructions, well a walkth...

Re: I'm Busy Reading....
I'm reading "The Kite Runner" which is an amazing book. Definitely not soppy though, I've been crying. Again. Pathetic, I know. I read that one recently - think I got it for Christmas - quite agree it can be a bit of a tear jerker but not soppy. Good book, recommend it. What am I reading at the mom...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Just wanted to pop by and say Hi. Not been here or the old place for ages so have only just discovered the old place has gone  . Still was to be expected. Today I've done a bit of work (not a lot as worrying not a lot on at the moment), done some wedding planning (got proposed to on my 50th bir...
