Re: The whinge thread
Having read all this I feel brightened by the fact that the only blot on my Christmas - apart from still not being able to find my address book or Mum's so none of my cards have been posted! - is that Mum lost the plot Christmas Day, wanted to go home as her mam would be cross she'd been away so lon...

Re: Word Zendo
Thank goodness for that! I mean......
O worthy Cenwulf, I commend your insight and willingly pass on the staff and mantle of the Master. I wait on bended knee to hear the words of the Blessed One.

Re: Word Zendo
The humblest of apologies, O worthy students. Christmas shopping????? I was unavoidably detained - oh how i yearn for the days of the scribe, the stylus and the parchment. Blinking computers!!! Worthy Cenwulf, you are indeed perceptive. Your far seeing mind discerns that Browning is acceptable to th...

Re: Word Zendo
Perverse as it may seem, O SparkOut, and wishing no disrespect to our fathers, under this law the word is displeasing. However you are correct in your observation that to persist is to be undone.

Re: Word Zendo
Revered SparkOut, strangely the opposite is true. The feathers of chickens are pleasing to Buddha, useful as they are in bedding comfort for those who have little, whilst the stripes of tigers, whilst attractive to the eye, serve no other purpose than adornment.

Re: Word Zendo
Buddha prefers to take each day as a precious gift but if he was to choose he would indeed prefer burial in a coffin to having his ashes preserved in a locket.

Re: Word Zendo
Dear novice evilkeen, at his most austere the Buddha shuns both drink and food existing on nourishment from the inner soul.
Indeed, worthy SparkOut, your question is correct; though stubborn the useful camel finds favour and the obstinate mule does not.

Re: Word Zendo
Esteemed Bunnylump, the Master prefers to go humbly barefoot, shunning both slippers and boots
Brother Scurra, you are correct in surmising that a stout coffer would be preferable to a locker.

Re: Word Zendo
Buddha has requested I provide a list of acceptable and unacceptable words. Forgive an inexperienced Master who has had to commune deeply with the Buddha to properly translate his meanings; I will have to decline tooters as too discordant. Buddha's Butterflies banner newspapers internet accommodatio...

Re: Word Zendo
I have returned from my retreat with many thoughts to occupy me - not one involves how many posts have been made on this site! The austere life leads Buddha to shun a room but be pleased to accept humble accommodation when offered. Coffee and tea are equally acceptable in moderation, Buddha has no t...

Re: Word Zendo
The Buddha abhors what is happening in the world today but no good is served by remaining ignorant of events. Both Newspapers and the Internet are useful tools.

You're quite right Scurra, I did barrel in there. I remember that as a very good rule in the other place. Apologies to all!
I am instructed to leave you with the message that the truth is there for all to find if the road to enlightenment is followed carefully.

Re: Word Zendo
My humble apologies. I am told by Buddha I must enter a retreat tomorrow to commune with my soul. (Actually it's a day of workshops on owning and community assets. I know how to have a good time.) I am reluctant to pass on Buddha's words of enlightenment until they have been finely tuned - nearly th...
