Re: Passing the time

I found the Buzzfeed website by accident, but once you start looking at it other 'titles' catch your eye. The photo-realistic art work is amazing, but the one that got me onto the site was: http://www.buzzfeed.com/jessicamisener/33-teachers-who-got-the-last-laugh [Dedicated to the Puzzlers involved ...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...

Very stylish :) [Sneaks a sausage roll of the far side] I'm just plugging away doing more of the same - teaching course / looking for work / trying to type up a researched business plan for Taylor Made Solutions. Had a bummer of a week last week as my data stick vanished somewhere over the weekend a...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...

That looks like a fun party (and lovely weather). Sorry I'm not around but I've mostly bin.... Writing away for jobs - there is one advert that caught my eye because it actually included humour and personality within it. I did put in my covering letter that I liked this but would resist the temptati...

Re: Passing the time

These past two weeks have been '1st Microteach' sessions for the 6 of us in class - 3 each week. I did mine last week with my 'Escape from a Cross-Wrist Grab' session (that I originally did in my PTLLS course). It went fine and didn't warrant any comment here. This week one gent gave a very interest...

Re: Passing the time

That's a really clever idea implemented well. Clearly it has different problems to "normal" reading, but I was surprised at how easy it was to follow even at 600wpm. Seconded - that was a very interesting experience. As my usual complaint is that I can't read 'proper' stuff (for learning, etc) I'd ...

Not too much time - I used old-school 'warp drive' and made it along to Pluto [OK, I took the shortcut from Saturn] ;)

Very interesting view of our place in the local area.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...

Mine came as well, which did surprise me  Not had a chance to look at it as I've spent all weekend writing.... Personal Statement showing how you meet the competencies required for this role. Your Personal Statement should be no more than 500 words. .... for 4 different job titles for HMRC. Th...

Re: Happy Birthday

Thanks all :) It must say something about my age that I gave myself a 'treat' by getting my denture fixed properly instead of sticking the two broken-off teeth back onto the pallet with superglue (again). [I was getting 2-3 days out of each 'fix' and got fed up  ] Hope you're all well on here,...

Re: 2013 Meet

Sitting at the Library in Newcastle and I've actually given myself time to look through the photos from the visit. This is the first chance I've had to do this. [Sorry :( ] I can't comment on all of them, but.... NO - she doesn't look like an alien  Rotten Mum. That second photo is a perfect ca...

Re: Question for 'educational' type people

For better or worse I've signed up to this course - but I think I might be the only potential student  If that's the case then I don't think it is likely to go forward. We'll wait and see. I still need to find 30 hours of teaching practice to do it, so I think that means I need to restart Taylo...

Re: Question for 'educational' type people

  Oh, you can DEFINITELY go off people, you know*... Not 'doing' it, dear Sister - that is as good or as bad as you allow yourself practice time to be. I meant teaching it is easy ;) That's why I was amazed a few years back when Kingsley reported her I.T class as being 'boring'

Re: Question for 'educational' type people

I have already talked with the course organizer and had an on-the-spot pre-course interview. He thought this would be ideal for following on from the PTLLS I've already got, but suspected that schools and universities might still need you to follow on to the 'even higher' one :( With everything bein...
