Re: 2013 Meet
That looks good LAT, and definitly calls for me to give a tour of Jesmond Dene. [Lovely to sneak away to for a quite walk for those that can't sit still ;) ]. It is off the main party strip, and I'll take a drive past and check it out. Any questions you want me to go in and ask face-to-face I can so...
Re: 2013 Meet
Sorry - running around here. (About to be 'interviewed' for a job that I don't know if I want or not..... Things not great here in Sunderland City Council). Gill was thinking the Jesmond area as being a little bit more out-of-the-way, but my thoughts were City Centre [the two smaller maps at the bot...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
After poor Maisie had her quayside business park walk cut short on Saturday by a wasp sting :o :( she was unhappy and limping during the day but perked up on Sunday morning - so we took her for a nice long wander around the grounds at Gibside. This was to neatly avoid going anywhere near town where ...
Re: 2013 Meet
It looks as though the area in the marked square might be a bit more residential and therefore quieter, but how convenient is it for the planned activities? That area of Jesmond tends to be bars and hotels all the way along - like a little "party strip", so I'm not sure about quieter ;) Everything ...
Re: 2013 Meet
Having a quiet class, so done some compilation work in Paint ;) A handy way to pull things together. First a quick couple of maps showing locations for 4 of the 'big names' - I could have put the Hilton on (just on the South of the river), but I figured this was a good start. If people do their own ...

LOL - I threw the word 'bridges' in there just for youBunnylump wrote:That sounds very cool MBH, I really hope I can come
Jesmond Dene was an obvious 'other day walk', as is the Quayside market on Sunday morning. Lots of choices.
Re: 2013 Meet
I think I finally got myself motivated to complete the walking puzzle for the quayside walk. [I was two letters short in the answer  ]. Now I need to print it out and test it. My thoughts were this could be a morning wander seeing some of the area most people miss, before wandering across one ...

Re: Clever s*ds - help required please!!
I've not done it, but I imagine it's a simple act of creating a new account (like a new but 'fake' email address) in the Docs website. That log-in and password can then be passed to all participants much as rebels@puzzlebrains.co.uk was. One thought... we all have varying success in logging on to Go...

Grrrrr.... Whenever we pick I may not be around all the time playing "Mein Host", but you're all a self-sufficent bunch. It looks like each weekend there might be interruptions, but any weekend could be made to work. Whatever weekend we pick I'll get or MAKE some time with the gang - I just can't co...

Now, come on. My brother's a nice guy, but I wouldn't go that far!  [Webs Sister to the wall and tickles her] The Angel is a little hard to miss - I pass it at least twice each day, but never actually visited the hill it sits on. That could easily be a visit at some point. Times are alwa...

Kingsley will be studying Music at Durham Without putting any pressure or obligation on the poor lass  if there's anything I can do up here for her (or YOU) then let me know. I'm thinking in the longer term for contact or help in the future. Also - give Lally a hug from us all ;) She might be...

Re: Happy thread
So there is life after bad results too. I always said I never had an 'A' level brain. Only took TWO to ensure there was no way of going to Uni, and jumping from CSE to 'A' level Physics was not my brightest of ideas --- I just thought that I liked the subject even though a lot went straight over my...

Fantistic marks - well done to both of them. [I knew they were stupidly smart, but now they've got papers to prove it]

Just been in the back garden with Maisie - patchy cloud, but clear areas in the right part of the sky. I'll see what I can see before I go to bed
Re: Hello!
:D Nice to run into you... I'm hardly ever here myself. Congratulations on your performances and your degree - you are very busy aren't you? OK - yet another random find that is (IMHO) a hidden gem for showing off our area. I live here and I never heard about this event, so it was a surprise to stumble across it. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00wmy5q/Come_Clog_Dancing_Treasures_of_English_Folk_Dance/ Even if you don't get anythin...
