oh just had a thought re the final clue (no 13). could the answer be PLAYWRIGHT - which gives us the W - and also fits with if we have Dramatic author as the def it could be SPORT = PLAY, ethical = RIGHT and then the seventh letter of WOODROW (W) inside thinking more and more this is the answer :D

I had been thinking along those lines - and also dismissed due to chinchilla...

I also wondered whether is was just the first clue - which has AND in it - and wondered whether the answer was BLUE!

OK for new clue 1 how about BLUEPRINT - blue = down, print = sketch - blueprint= publication?

or print= publication, and blueprint = sketch

Entering not meaning anagram - but putting into the word - thats what I was thinking.

Yep - still looking at the other two - been googling Ethical Woodrow's Seven and getting Seven steps re morals.....

So new clue 7 I think it might be CHINCHILLA - which gives us the L (for clue) and also contains INCH - still trying to work out the rest of the clue

oh and a correction for new 7 it is HEAD not HEAT - sorry I was using the wrong word

sorry yes 16 - so GIVE = FEED, REAR = BACK, meaning report or criticism

OK for new 14 clue how about ICON - Insurrection leader = I, then CON for "Mexican with" - as in con carne - and ICON meaning likeness
