Re: Today I've mostly bin...

Re: Cats

We bought ours today and have it sat outside waiting for the world to stop spinning so that we can get the decorations out and bring it in. Not that I have room to put a Christmas tree up but hey ho. I take it you aren't planning to get the decorations out then? (when does the world stop spinning?)

Settlers is one of our favourite games - although we only get to play boardgames when we are visiting Wulf. (Although Thomas has discovered Snakes and Ladders, so there's hope for us)

Re: Today I've mostly bin...

... getting ready for the end of an era. We're having a restructure here at work and our team, who have been together for close to 10 years, are all being split up. So we're going out for a team meal tonight. I'm quite excited about the challenge (will be leading my own team of admin), but I think m...

...getting ready to drive back home, leaving Thomas with his Grandparents and Uncle Scurra for a week. In a week's time, I'll come back down (with Daddy this time) for another week in Devon. Will be interesting to see how much energy grandad has left, not to mention what sort of lego structures have...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...

that sounds... err... hectic! And what were you thinking, offering cooked breakfast? Maybe you can light the bbq and just hand them food to cook themselves (you'll notice I said bbq, so you don't have to risk your kitchen) You just don't realise how much you use a finger till it's out of action, do ...

I presume you have tried restarting your pc?
I know I've had this problem in the past but can't remember what I did to solve it - other than I'm pretty sure it was accidental!

Re: Today I've mostly bin...

... FIL has actually been back in hospital for a while now - apparently the nerves aren't getting the instructions to the muscles in his throat properly, but it's all under control and he's massively improved. He's in an acute neuro ward and last night one of the other men on the ward decided he wan...

... getting really p****ed off at the inner workings of the Council. They have been doing a restructure of our section and admin is one of the main areas. Their plan is to put in a 'supervisor' to manage the admin across our part of legal - actually a sort of co-ordinator role to make sure everyone...

any excuse for a go-slow at work.... which is exactly what the boss who I'm helping out while her PA is off said! mind you, it was put into perspective when we found yesterday that Ste's dad has been taken ill on his way home from holiday - so he's in a Rome hospital for the next few days at ...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...

interestingly, I started at the walk-in centre and the only thing they really did (apart from saying I might need stitches and therefore referring me to A&E) was give me a tetanus.

At least I should get lots of sympathy at work today!

Re: Today I've mostly bin...

well, I'm back and we had a massive 209 people come into vote... but there were a lot of new voters which was interesting. I think a lot of the regulars now have postal votes though, so assuming they voted as well, that's 430 voted out of a total of 1390 registered. Mind you, my polling station is q...

... getting up bright and early for my 15.5hr day. It'll be long and boring, but hey, it's an important job, sat in a polling station waiting for the 100 or so people who can be bothered to come and vote.
So, for the sake of people like me around the country, please ease the boredom and go and vote.
