Re: 2013 Meet
Yes Gill. Jesmond is still bar and hotel city. It would give a nice place to stay with directions to Jesmond Dene added into the mix, but I don't know how noisy it gets as it's not an area I visit. With planning I can do taxi service too - I am 'across the river.. and along... and up the hill' but I...
Re: 2013 Meet
A couple of quick answers there. Newcastle Central Station is on the East Coast main line and good deals can be done in advance through thetrainline.com. I never consider flying but Newcastle Airport is out of the city but has a link with the Metro underground/overground system. I can make enquiries...
Re: 2013 Meet
Whenever we pick I may not be around all the time playing "Mein Host", but you're all a self-sufficent bunch. It looks like each weekend there might be interruptions, but any weekend could be made to work. I'm guessing you want to do this before school gets back in session (or put it off until later...
Re: 2013 Meet
I know why this thread is so quiet - you're scared of the unpopulated and desolate environment up here.
Just as well we have a sense of humour. [NOT going 'political', but too good to miss]

Re: The things kids say
Just had a lovely group of ladies on board my bus learning about the computers, and one has obviously had many years in the education profession. We were talking about spelling and she said she's seen so many different spellings of "Diarrhoea" that she probably couldn't spell it properly. I told the...

I think we might need you on 1D.Lists - it looks like your kind of thing, Bunny. Googledocs not working here on my computer bus :( 1D is the only one that even makes a hint of sense to me. If everyone's already flying through this then I'll shut up  but the Ferryman started me thinking. [No id...

Re: MUMS/Cisra 2013
I've got some old cisra pdfs on the computer on the bus. I was catching a potential puzzlers interest with the Kids Placemat one from some years ago. Meeting a few people it would be interesting to get on boards with the mag.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I had a very interesting couple of hours last night at a Virgin Money Jobs event in Gosforth. Obviously I'm getting myself about and seeing what I might need to aim for, but this was a revealation as a lot of my OLD skills with regard to ICL Mainframe computers are still in demand. Obviously there w...

I don't know, although to be honest there aren't many words that rhyme with "barmy" When you have a great answer like that I think it is a crying shame that the places isn't famous for making Salami ;) Don't be put off LAT - I'm wondering what our Evil Jester is going to make of my puzzle tra...

Nice one That's obviously the aptitude test. [Asking friends counts as aptitdue]
Got a saved file to play with - now need the careers advice person to make sure I don't shoot myself in the foot with a couple of tricky questions.

LOL - Don't you just love a moving target? I went on to recapture the PDF today and find it's been turned into a .DOC file... sounds like a solution. Until you try to open it or save it and it's an HTML file that shows the Word formatting rubbish. http://www.shepherdsdene.co.uk/object-202-the-search...

Re: Clever s*ds - help required please!!
OK - I'm here with a request this time. I've got a job application form downloaded as a PDF file. Is there an easy way to get this into something I can fill in on the computer - such as a conversion to a Word document or some other devious means? I have a couple of off the wall ideas of making it wo...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Actually completed a puzzle OK - it was only the JubJub Snark sudoku grids - but that's more than I've done in ages.
Since it doesn't have a 'thread' I'll ask here.... Is there an 'answer' to this puzzle or just the pleasure of completing the grids?
