Well I think I know what has happened now - and it's going to be a pain to fix. :(
But essentially, whenever you use a feature that searches the site (e.g. for new posts, although the main "search" button is affected as well), the search is being redirected to an external site - although it's doing it wrong, so it is ending up at Google instead...

(It's not just confined to the forum, but the other parts of the site don't work in the same way. I still have to work out how to fix them though.)
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

I just tried going on search, and it tried to redirect me, but my antivirus shouted at me and said that it was trying to redirect me to a "malicious cookie website". I should also tell you that earlier on my antivirus insisted that I ran a scan, and detected several cookies which it quarantined.

I'm sure the jester will solve the problem soon, but in the meantime my brain needs rewiring.

It should all be working fine now - you can use "view new posts" again safely.

Giraffe, mine seems ok now and I'm on internet explorer like you. Are you working from a link saved in favourites or something like that?

OK - That made me

I'm on a public access machine at work using IE8 and it seems to be back to normal. My borrowed machine at home is getting ropey and it's been a lousy couple of weeks with the car problems, so I've not been tempted to come online generally.

I'll catch up properly when I can, but puzzling has died a death in this household

It's when I click view new posts I just get that white page that says "Internet explorer cannot display the webpage" I was only drected to google once last week. After that I just got this white page. I'm not using a link from anywhere, I am clicking the button top right.

I have tried logging out and logging back in. I have tried going away completely and typing puzzlebrains forum into google and getting in that way, but it makes no difference.

I'm a little worried that typing "puzzlebrains forum" into Google comes up with anything actually... (I thought I'd blocked the forum from being indexed.)

I am not sure why "view new posts" isn't working for you though.
