Oh that was worrying! Just got locked off the forum too. I'm back, and I think I can get into my messages. Phew!

I thought I'd been evicted for general truculence. It keeps happening.

Yet, I'm having no problems with posting or accessing messages. Strange.

It's intermittent, so perhaps you have just been lucky.

Why am I not surprised that it's the three of you that have broken the system?
I'm not getting any error messages here though.
My best guess is that you were sending messages whilst your inbox was completely full but before the database had a chance to deal with it. And there I was thinking that a limit of 100 messages would be more than enough...

If you are in pm contact with 10 people it's not very many at all, because a conversation could be more than 10 messages long, and I sometimes have 2 conversations with the same person going at once, which gets very confusing when the messages cross. I know I talk too much.

True, but I would hope you aren't talking to all those ten people at the same time - at least, not via the PM system. That's when the problems seem to arise! In other words, I'm not saying that I don't expect people to have 100 messages in their inbox at any one time - I know I do.

I have been looking at alternative systems that would let people set up "private" forum threads, which are a much better alternative to PMs anyway, but you can't do that on here - at least not in the current version.

I don't think it was anything to do with trying to send messages as I was getting it just clicking on the 'XX new messages' button before I got to trying to read or send a message. But it seems OK for me as well now.

And it wouldn't let me log on when I tried to log off and back on to see if that would cure it.

LOL - the art of 'tact' (getting your point across without stabbing someone with it)

Got to admit, I tried to go back and delete things I didn't need and keep things I did - but conversations just came so fast my box is full and needs to 'look after itself'.
