Speed

#1 Post by Bunnylump » Sat May 21, 2011 11:23 am

Is is just me, or is this forum going REALLY slowly? It's taking about 20 seconds between pressing "submit" and anything happening. Also quite often I'm having to try twice because in the middle I'm getting a page saying something about Google Chrome is experiencing difficulties with PB. I'm not having any trouble with any other websites.

I've been having the same problem, Bunny, for about 2/3 weeks now. I just thought it was my computer - but I also have Google Chrome, so maybe that's where the problem lies.

EDIT: Have just come back without using Google Chrome and it is considerably faster!

It's slow for me - and I use Safari!

I don't have chrome, but it was really slow earlier in the week and it was just PB. Not too bad today.

This has gone back to being REALLY slow again. It's taking at least 15 seconds (and sometimes up to two minutes) every time I hit submit before the message / post shows up. I am also getting the same problem with messages about google having problems with the webpage fairly frequently. I'm not having this issue with anything else on the internet... :? It's kind of putting me off posting. Maybe that's Scurra's secret plan...

Mine seems to be running at the right speed, but I have had a couple of times when I've had a message saying the page cannot be loaded.

I'm having bad issues from time to time and I'm still using IE. Sometimes it's a few minutes before anything happens. But my yahoo messenger is also slow. Although most other stuff isn't so bad. It seems to be worst when I have yahoo and PB both open - which is most of the time.

I've been finding it's slow going for the past few days.

There do seem to be some speed issues with the server at the moment. These may or may not sort themselves out automagically...

I'm having trouble with getting on the forum (took five attempts this time) and keep getting messages saying things like "no data" and pages taking ages to load. Is this just me?

I've been getting similar problems this evening. And a couple of days ago I had problems getting onto the site but no problems visiting other websites.

Maybe the jester has booby-trapped me this time!

I'm having lots of problems on PB tonight, it keeps chucking me off and telling me that there is "no data received"!

I've been finding it is loading pages very slowly and once it couldn't connect at all.
Touch wood though it seems a bit better now.

People may have noticed this site (and the .com site) occasionally running slowly over the past few days (early July.) This is a problem with the server hosting our site which they are trying to resolve.

Slow doesn't cover it. It's taking about 10 seconds to load each page, and quite often I'm not able to connect at all. Ah well, at least it's not just me this time. :)

The site may be running slowly again today. It was moved to a new server last night and I think that it hasn't quite settled down yet.
