Re: poetry
Mine sort of winces when I approach him with yet another puzzle. He's quite good at solving things which I'm hopeless at and vice versa. The hard part is managing to catch him when he's not snoring on the sofa!!

Re: poetry
Mine will not admit to any interest in puzzles at all. He did have a look at the "Reading the signs" but I don't think he actually came up with any answers on that either. So I'm left here battling on my own.

Re: poetry
Mine looked at the posters and , got the one we all got first, the one with the words on, then came up with all sorts of weird and wonderful answers (I think he does it to try and put me off). When I told him the right answers, he said that I should be thinking of something sensible and not daft puzzles and he's the one with the degree
I don't have hot flushes. I have short holidays in the Tropics.

I don't know, there are lots of books under my bed! I still haven't got round to do this puzzle yet though. The books under my bed are irrelevent (except the poetry book).Bunnylump wrote:Wasn't that the one she found under your bed??

Finally done this puzzle. It took me a long time and I had a wrong word at one point.
Re: poetry
Well done Kingsley - how far have you got now?
Re: poetry

Re: poetry
I'm getting through the puzzles at a slow but steady pace. I haven't really had the chance to do much since half term, but I'm getting on with it slowly.

Re: poetry
What? Have you been doing something good like concentrating on homework or something? Truly impressive. It's such a shame they don't do GCSEs in puzzling, isn't it?

They never seem to set much homework!
No, it's just when I come in from a day at school I can't be bothered to exercise my brain again. I've mainly been working on puzzlebrains a bit later in the evening and at the weekends. In the half term I had nothing better to do than puzzles! At least the magazines are bimonthly so I get longer to complete the magazine! I hope to be done quite soon anyway!

I'll have to send a copy of this quote to your teachers; I'm sure they would be delighted to remedy this situation!!They never seem to set much homework!

One of my teachers actually said to us today that she thought homework was completely pointless,, so we asked her why she gave it to us. She said that the head says she has to!

Re: poetry
Actually, I totally agree. I don't want to come home from work and do more work, and I don't see why young people should either. I can see the benefit of independent working, but surely they could build that into a school day if they thought about it enough?
I'm a firm believer of children and young people having time to do their own thing in their own time, playing, watching tv, doing sports or music or vegging out staring at a wall!! As long as it doesn't involve antisocial behaviour or crime, or getting to bed ludicrously late, then whatever floats your boat!

Re: poetry
As you can see, my children have grown up and gone to university, so I don't have to nag them to do their homework any more!! YIPPEE! However, I'm having great fun inciting your children to stare at walls instead!
