You get more evil by the minute!
You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.

If it didn't put a "last edited by..." note at the bottom of the post, I would do!Scurra wrote:Well, I have to confess I was tempted to go and edit SparkOut's message so that it said something else though

You have altogether too much power on here for my liking!

Re: poetry
Me? why? anyone can edit their own posts. (If you edit before anyone else posts after you, it doesn't mention anything. If someone has already posted after your own, then when you edit it, it puts a label saying how many times it's been edited and when the last edit was made.)
Re: poetry
Yes - I'm the only person currently* on here who can edit anyone's posts, and (an unexpected bonus) it doesn't say that I have!
*no, even Gill can't do that. Yet... And by "currently", I don't mean 2 in the morning!

Re: poetry
Right, I should start this. I've been told that I shouldn't find it too difficult to do the first part (having been given a hint on what the first part is by giraffe). She's even told me that she has a book of poetry that will help me.

Thanks to all who pmd me, found Coleridge.Put them in order, checked the grid, come to a halt,i have no idea what to do next!!some more help is needed please.
Re: poetry
You don't have to solve the whole puzzle instantly you know
Try putting it aside for a day or so, or go and try a different puzzle, and then come back and look at what you have found. You'd be surprised how often something will leap out at you.
The best piece of advice about puzzle-solving I ever had was when I asked someone for help and all they told me was "look again at what you've found." Nothing about what to look for, or where to look, and yet just being told to look again was enough for me to see what I was missing. And this has happened more than once

And the other piece of advice we both had was " get someone else to look at it for you"

Re: poetry
I can definitely recommend the 'get someone else to look'. I keep showing my husband where I'm up to, and he goes away and solves it for me! Well, some of the time anyway. Trouble is, he gets bored quickly, so if he doesn't see the answer in about 1/2 hour he gives up. He'd be no good at these on his own, but is really helpful for when I'm stuck.
Perseverance: - the courage to ignore the obvious wisdom and carry on anyway
