Da Vinci Code
Re: Da Vinci Code
It certainly needed perseverance.
Re: Da Vinci Code
The film posters comes a close second! Unless you happen to have superhuman knowledge of films and their posters?
Re: Da Vinci Code
I don't think that's true at all. The posters are all from a very specific and quite small set that was chosen to be relatively easy to guess (even if it appears that people are having trouble actually guessing it!)
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

The films are the big ones that everyone has heard of. The problem you are having Kingsley is that you are too young to have seen many of them. This is where a good brain is not quite enough, 30 or 40 years general knowledge help too!kingsley wrote:The film posters comes a close second! So you're saying "experience" is good for something?giraffe wrote:The films are the big ones that everyone has heard of. Re: Da Vinci Code
Maybe it's just that inexperience is a major hinderance Mind you she sorted out the sureallism picture without knowing what word to google. Her description that she googled was quite amazing... and it brought up what she wanted as the first answer. She knew what she meant and so did google.

This one's driving me mad - have worked out the codes, but no idea what to do next - please can anyone help with a suble hint?
Re: Da Vinci Code
Afraid I'm stuck too. Found one word then another but both wrong. Can I check my (wrong) answers with anybody?

If you need to check the words that require decoding then I can help with thatSnoopy wrote:Afraid I'm stuck too. Found one word then another but both wrong. Can I check my (wrong) answers with anybody?
If anyone can give me a hint as to what to do once code has been worked out it would be very much appreciated, as i've come to a grinding halt
Re: Da Vinci Code

Re: Da Vinci Code
Have cracked the codes and got a seven-letter word out of it. Can't ascertain the next step.

Re: Da Vinci Code
For each of the rows, look up the 7 letter word.
Then looking down that list should give you an idea.

Ta. Had an inkling about that (and a PM from someone else which cleared it with me), so this will mean further Googleology lectures.

Re: Da Vinci Code
Have googled and got answers - but something doesn't quite work somewhere with the fourth on the list. Can someone help enlighten me as to what's gone wrong?

Re: Da Vinci Code
This puzzle was written especially for you, Cenwulf, since pedantic people won't be able to solve it
You know what the letter should be, and it is there...
[But the real pedants would argue about the last two letters, not the fourth letter... )

Re: Da Vinci Code
Actually, a true pedant would also dispute the second, especially if you have to change languages as well.

See, I told you. But since you're not a pedant, there's no problem, is there?

Re: Da Vinci Code
Ah, you obviously have a different approach to me Cenwulf. When I've got a few wrong letters I automatically assume it's because I'm thick, and just move on. It's when I have so many incorrect letters that I can't work out what I'm meant to end up with that I start having tantrums. (Don't I, Scurra? )
You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.
