Embarkation of Queen of Sheba

#1 Post by pnward » Mon Oct 27, 2008 2:29 pm

More mental ramblings.

The flags on the painting do not exist in the original as I'm sure you have guessed.

I have spotted 7 flags, let me know if you think there are more.
I have 8 countries for the 7 flags as one of them belongs to 2 different countries.
I have tried anagrams of the countries and zilch.

Let me know if you have any other ideas.

I only found 7 flags.

The key help for me was the flap at top left.

I got 7 flags, but only 6 countries. The one in the foreground with something on top of it is causing me a bit of a problem. Is this for a country? or an area?

Sorry sir, not I. I'm just a bit outside of that place. But thanks, that's what I thought it was. So that's 7 and 7. Now what? More thinking.

Well I then looked up their international short 2 or 3 letter versions, bit came a bit unstuck on the one in the foreground that you have mentioned and the one on the right on the little flag pole but it didn't get me any further.

How about just the initial letters? Going for two or three country-coded letters led me up the wrong path too for a while.
