Are you going to file that idea away for future use? :?

You might think that. I couldn't possibly comment.

It's quite unlikely that I would use something as subtle as that though - it would feel unfair to me (and that's saying something!!)

It can't have been that subtle, I noticed it!

I can't do subtle. It took me 2 days to spot that there were flags attached to that Queen of Sheba picture!

I still haven't done this puzzle. I have a few answers (4) and have googled some of the rest with no apparent success. I'm really really stuck. :(

I'm a tad stuck on this puzzle, mostly because I can't crack some of the clues, particularly the down ones.
Can I get someone to check through what I've got already please?
Stuck on 'Sports trophy', 'Old Scots', 'Bovine quadruped*', 'Meat cut' and 'Stock cube'. Puzzled about the tautology of 'Bovine quadruped'. Show me a bovine without four legs and I'll accept it.

*Have two options but they might not be right.

Does this mean:
The answers to the clues are in alphabetical order
or:
The clues are in alphabetical order of their solutions
or both, given that there is a difference between most of the answers (defined words) and most of the solutions (grid entries)?

Sorry if I'm getting fussy about the grammar, but in the sentence quoted above, 'to the clues' just gives more information about 'the answers', and the sentence could be rewritten:
The clues' answers are in alphabetical order of their solutions
which could be read as that the solutions are in alphabetical order, but not necessarily the answers.

If I had wanted it to say something else, then it would have said something else.

edit: I do see what you mean (it's somewhat tautological as it stands) but it still says what I want it to say.

I'm getting there with this one.
Scurra wrote:The answers to the clues are in alphabetical order.
I see what you mean with this. I currently have 7 answers to the clues and they seem to be following it.

Am I correct in assuming that the answers are all four letters long?

No, I don't agree. Some are, but not all.
