I think I could do with a small starting nudge now please. I've been staring at this for days. I've got a number of "observations" about the picture but nothing I can turn into a starting clue. :(

Cheers. BB.

There is a reality called "see-do-get". Look at things in the same way, do the same things and you will always get the same result. In this case, endless staring at the same "observations" and unable to start.

Thanks to LAT and Maisie for nudging my paradigm shift.

Simple and Obvious (when you know how of course). Ha !! :D

:!: I have purposely blanked out a section of this post for anyone who is still fighting The Runes. There is a spoiler so for those who don't want to know don't read it. :!:

BB. you just made me laugh again with your post . Remember the Runes and the difference between a word that you ended with S followed by IX doesnt necessarily mean something with 9 in it. How long was it you spent ? 6 weeks?

That was classic.

This puzzle took the train trip to London with me - I thought I was heading for an answer (but just couldn't see it), and then LAT pointed out to me that I was on my own personal detour :(

One reason I like crosswords - you know how many letters there are in the answer. [Except, of course, when you buy Puzzlebrains  - yes, that one was looked at as well]

Sorted now - and I actually recognised this result :)
