And so clever! I could never make anything like that! :D

Doesn't sound good, hoping everything is OK?

OK, so I was with my boss on the way to go and survey an old radio relay for decommissioning (about 40 minutes into an hour's drive) and got a call. Mrs S had a fall on the back steps and done her ankle in, needs to go to A&E.
Pumpkin can't drive right now because she has her foot in a "cast boot" because of a fracture through having a heavy filing xabinet dropped on it while trying to bring it down the shop stairs.
We turned round and I got to A&E just as taxi dropped Mrs S and Pumpkin off there.
So now they are "boot buddies" cos Mrs S has a broken ankle and massive soft tissue injury.

Ouch ouch ouch. Not nice at all (she says- remembering, whilst wincing at that memory, soft tissue damage on my ankle after the pothole in the thunderstorm in a mountain in Italy debacle!)

Hope they both mend quickly! :)

Oh dear! Poor them. :( Hope they are both back on their feet soon.

You'd better take care SparkOut!

Rather puts my bruised ribcage into perspective as I can still get around even if more slowly and carefully than usual.

...Trying to set up my new laptop! Gosh, it's all hard going, isn't it? Had to take off antivirus from old PC (wouldn't let me as that's one of the things that got corrupted) then put it onto new one, having taken off the McAfee trial. Then had to try to get back into all those nebulous things that I don't really understand, such as Microsoft one drive accounts, Google drives etc., all of which had my passwords saved onto the PC that now won't let me use it. But PHEW, seven hours later I've managed MOST of it. It didn't help that when I initially set up the new laptop, because I wasn't used to the keyboard, I incorrectly entered my email when trying to set up all the Microsoft stuff. And of course, they sent the verification codes to an e mail address that doesn't exist. Cue much searching online forums to try to work out how to fix it all.

I would be lying if I said that there hadn't been a few tears and tantrums along the way, but I must admit to being quite smug that I've actually done most of it! I think it's time to open that bottle of wine now!

Yes it does, even if you "do IT" for a living. Maybe not 7 hours, but still.

Because you didn't want to go directly to someone who might help steer you through things because that would be too presumptive. Even though they might welcome the distraction from other carp going on. And who loves you and would love to give back some help and support to you.

Ugh, that sounds like a dig. Not meant like that. Love you x

 Oh, you SO very nearly got a phone call from a slightly demented woman today! But I wanted to try to sort things out myself as much as I could, I really don't like being pathetic!  And actually, there may still be further ranty, tearful phone calls yet to come when I realise all the things I've done wrong / haven't worked...you may not yet be out of the woods!

Well when you're not playing camping, I should still be calling you for other reasons anyway, demented or not.

On a site visit, used journey time on the way back to vent and blub and list some of the horrible circumstances going on for us at the moment.

...Feeling fed up.

We WERE supposed to be having a socially distanced walk with K and D today, with mince pies and mulled wine to warm us up - as we can't see Dibble at Christmas. Then this morning, C (the littlie) woke up coughing. K rang the doctor, who said he thought it was almost certainly just her cold, she had to get a Covid test just in case. So now we are isolating until the test results come back so no walk, no mulled wine. And of course, if the test comes back positive, then NO contact with anyone at all over Christmas either. And we might all be about to come down with the lurgy. :x

Pretty cheesed off TBH! I know there are a lot of people a lot worse off for many reasons, but I can't believe how fed up I am over such a little thing!

Sorry, rant over.
