katsmom - I'm sure you see equally impressive (although different) sights where you are.

It's a really famous bluebell wood (Docketts Wood) which is in the Ashridge Estate, near where I live. There are 2000 acres of woods, which have red deer in them. There are also some lovely views from Ivinghoe Beacon. If anyone is ever in the area they are worth a visit.

We are also planning to go and find local bluebells this week - should be the peak time. They are so beautiful in wild places. It is one of the glories of the English countryside that we get this display each year, but sadly the native flower is in decline. Some years ago someone had the bright idea of introducing a hybrid version for the garden ("Spanish bluebell") which has spread like wildfire and has proved to be a total menace in town gardens where it spreads so rapidly that it overwhelms other things in the garden and then spreads out to the whole neighbourhood where you don't want it. It also takes over from the native flower which was more under control.

I don't find out what's in the post until 7pm :( Yesterday's post was soaked, but the sun is shining today - so I'll see what's at home when I get there :)

Hope you're OK Jo - and I won't as if you enjoyed the show ;)

Today I are mostly bin ........ drivin' around various bits of South Yorkshire and having a moment of enlightenment about "The Traitor" while staring at the Meadowhall Center (Sheffield for those that don't know) while stuck in early morning traffic on the M1. Why on earth I was staring at Meadowhall is a mystery to me. Perhaps I found it slightly more interesting to look at than the hateful lorries and vans all around me. Hey Ho.

Cheers. BB.
