Do you know what? I USED to be the most organised person in the world as far as birthdays went. I always knew when everyone's was, how old they were, and would have a card ready to send 3 days beforehand every time. I was so good at it I seriously considered setting up a business, whereby useless people could give me a list of birthdays and a pile of signed cards and I'd make sure they were sent out on time. But now I'm OLD I'm rubbish myself. Forget things ALL THE TIME. Hopeless. :(

Mind you, get this. I do have one card ready for a birthday next year. And you'd be REALLY surprised who it's for. I couldn't tell you when his birthday is, but I ALREADY have the card. Only because it was SO appropriate it was too good to miss!!

Actually, on a birthday related note, I don't suppose anyone has the list of birthdays from DVP do they? It's one of the things which went awol when my computer broke... So basically, apologies if I've missed anyone!!

Don't you just LOVE children? And when I say children, I mean 23 year old children, well, more precisely CHILD who's just come home and announced that she needs a full Tudor outfit FOR TUESDAY.

Tell her to go and buy a box of the appropriate crisps and staple them to her usual clothes.

She'll get a laugh if nothing else.

Edit: no, she cant. They haven't been sold since 2003!!! Neither have Smiths!

Tudor crisps. I've edited my post. No longer on sale. I'm showing my age, you might not remember them.

Never heard of them. Crisp brands are really local. There was a brand when we lived in Sheffield that had bees on the packets, but I've never seen them before or since. All you get round here are Walkers, or supermarket's own.

Absolutely nothing! Best crisps as far as I'm concerned (having been brought up on them) Nothing wrong with three wheeled yellow cars either.

It could also be regional - I haven't heard of them.
So who remembers the little twists of salt in crisp packs - that often went all soggy and turned into one lump! And if you were really lucky you got about 4 little bags of salt in one pack (and no, I'm not talking about the little sealed packs of salt that reappeared some years later)

...Transforming a £4 Primark fleece blanket, an old pillowcase, several doileys and an apron into a Tudor outfit for my daughter... I have to say, I'm not good at anything much, but I'm truly impressive when it comes to making stuff out of junk!!

She was rushing to get back to my niece's (she's house sitting and hadn't had her tea) so I didn't get a chance to take one unfortunately. :) I told her that even if school is cancelled tomorrow she has to wear the ouffit to keep her warm!!

Maybe a piccy tomorrow then?

I am anxiously watching the weather forcast and the skies. Today it has been far too cold for snow but it is forcast for tomorrow - just in time for my busiest few days of the month. I was there for about 10 hours today (with no lunch hour) to get as much done as possible in case I need to have foreshortened days later in the week.

I'm contemplating getting the DVDs out tomorrow. I'm very bored. Whoever thought snow days were good fun? It's all very well if it's snowier where you work than where you are, but I'm actually completely stuck in the house and not very patient with it!!! Thank goodness for the promise of another puzzle tomorrow!!!

I've mostly been using my little boy as a hot water bottle under the pretence of affectionate cuddles, whilst watching the cows wade through the snow in the field at the bottom of the garden. Laura, you've been at home ONE DAY! This is our 3rd day of quarantine :(

I'm sure you will be at some point.

We had very little yesterday but today we got about 8" in 3 hours. OH had to walk homefrom work (city centre), buses stopped, airport shut and what little traffic I can see is moving at snailpace.

Well, pass him this way then!!! I don't mind catching stuff.

Bunny, I wish I'd been able to go to work. I really like my kids - they're all crackers, and keep me entertained. Plus, I missed four lessons today with pupils who have exams next week.

And then, my lovely Christmas concert that we do every year for the local old people's club, was cancelled this afternoon. It's such a wonderful afternoon. They really really appreciate the choir coming to entertain them, they join in and are very enthusiastic.
