unless we arrange a time when we can be on google docs and msn messenger im sure some one has a webcam so we can talk/ explain things "in person" over the web :-p

you could argue that not being there would be relevant ;-)

It's just a program that basically records a computer session so you can play it back, a bit like watching a film. (It has some other uses as well.)
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.

Aaahh...

Clvrlad...I'm saying NOTHING about sad people with no life. Honestly.

If I had it my way it would be face to face and paper and pens all round.  (In fact I have recently delighted in posting Scurra a puzzle all drawn out on graph paper and coloured in with coloured pencil...bet he's hidden it somewhere in disgust... )

Going back to the original idea - yes, I would value re-visiting some of those puzzles I had to abandon.
I've no idea how Google docs works, but can maybe get some private tuition when a certain jester is visiting here at the end of next week..... :D

Like I said, don't panic about Google Docs. You can just use the threads if you want to.

Just an update here. As I think Scurra's off for a bit of home cooking for a few days and the Google Docs idea isn't that straightforward to set up right away, for now we'll keep questions and hints on the Advent Calendar on the forum. I was wondering how you're all doing, and if it's maybe time to think about moving back to Chapter 4 - Asia, maybe this weekend? What do you all think? If nobody is interested then just shout which ones anyone wants to check out and we'll go for that. Or it may just be that nobody is interested at all in past puzzles...and I might be flogging a dead horse here!

Personally speaking I think it was The United States issue which I had most unsolved puzzles from (or I was told how they worked but didn't understand, can't remember now!!) So maybe if we continue with this idea I could get some thwacks on those as we work back? :D

I still have most of advent and the last 4 of the current issue. I won't be doing any others before I have had a chance to look at those.

PS your green signature strip is doing things to my eyes.

OK, shall I hold fire then?

I was just hoping to use the puzzle gap productively. :D

PS How does the signature grab you now??

Since I can't read the green it still doesn't make any difference.

What puzzle gap? I'm still doing the current ones.

I think Bunny means the gap until we get the next issue at the beginning of May or thereabouts.

I am happy though to help on any past puzzles at any time so please don't anybody feel you have to wait for a particular set to be mentioned.
And that includes help on past metas as I believe the jester has given permission* for that to happen too. Just not the current one yet!

* is that correct?

Yes, Scurra definitely said that it was OK to work on past meta puzzles together. I think he'd like to encourage more people to have a go - so therefore if anyone wants to have a go and see how past ones worked then they can.

Meant to say, if you want any nudges, do ask. I do believe I actually completed this issue and all the advent puzzles. :D

:? Am I hallucinating and have missed half a book or something?

For clarity, I didn't solve the meta puzzle for this one and I don't think I actually solved any of them on my own (because I can't) but I did arrive at answers by some dubious method to them all, and am happy to help if you would like me to.

I know what I have to do on two and a half of the ones left in the current issue. I just haven't had time to work out where I put my workings when I tidied up a couple of weeks ago, and to spend time looking everything up.
