Re: Today I've mostly bin...
we usually persuade Sigur's parents to look after them, but they're on holiday themselves for part of ours, so it wasn't possible.
and, of course, the sixth sense was helped by me getting the cat baskets out last night.... you'd think I'd know better having had cats for most of my life...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
So glad to know that the cat's turned up at least! Of course we were hoping to see you all today, and I hope Thomas is not too confused about it all - but at least I will have a bit of extra time to do the advance preparations and stuff things away in the freezer
As usual, I was not really up to speed with getting everything ready....

Seeing the Olympic Torch for about six seconds (like everybody else who turned out anywhere in the country.)
I suspect I am somewhere in the back of the crowd here...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I haven't seen the main one lit, but I did think it was quite cool that I got to hold the paralympic one (even if I do hate all kinds of sport!!). I meant to download the photo which was taken of me and Maryann with it to put on here, but forgot in my haste to finish work last week!!
If I remember, when I get back I'll post it on here.
And today I've mostly bin...
meeting a friend for coffee and then shopping (wait for the sharp intake of breath - not something I ever do unless it's unavoidable) but actually, it was quite enjoyable because we were buying a present for someone else, and actually found the perfect thing.
Then I came home, read for a while, and have just got back from a walk and a drink with another friend in the countryside.
Now I'm sitting listening to the Proms. This is the life.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
We saw the torch last Friday evening when it set off from Surrey Uni/Guildford Cathedral. Because that was the start of a stage the woman who was carrying it was there for quite a while waiting for the flame to arrive so she could light her torch. So I got a fairly good view of the unlit torch for several minutes. Then it was lit and she was off, running down the hill into Guildford town centre.
And today we had a VAT inspector in at work which meant I spent almost all day looking up stuff for him and hardly getting anything useful done. And now I am listening to the proms and hoping my headache will clear.

LOL - hope you all have a great time.Wulfruna wrote: Well, it's quite nice to see his parents as well, I have to admit.
I'm sure VAT inspectors and headaches go together by some law or other

Today I've been tracking down activities to offer on the computers for tomorrow's Mad Hatter's Tea Party organized by one of the local groups. I've got a selection of word searches and mazes that I hope to persuade the visitors to do using Paint, and a set of anagrams. [NO idea of the audience - if any - so I don't think any PB offerings would work]

... sitting on a beach this morning, watching grandad show Thomas how to build sandcastles, and in the garden this afternoon while grandad and Thomas slept off all the excitement!

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I'm afraid they have been...um...filed.
I've never quite seen the POINT of sudokus, and can't do them. But I'm sure tomorrow will bring me something I can get my teeth into.

Would I be right in thinking that there is no 'Answer' for this, other than the filled in grids? I'm not trying to get a word out of here, am I?

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I don't know, Laura. But I assume the answer is no, because there isn't an answer checking box. That's what I am hoping, anyway!!

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Should we have an Olympics (oops sorry - are we allowed to say that???) Forum started for comments?
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I completed the sudokus this afternoon but if there is an answer I've no idea what it is.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Have completed the so-called "more difficult" one, but, yes, what else to do?
Re: Today I've mostly bin...
No, there's no hidden answer here, hence the lack of an answer box as the Bunny noted.
I will sort out a forum tomorrow sometime.

Just as I thought I'd found something he tells us there's nothing to find
What I can see is a red herring then

They also had a craft activity barn - I'm getting into these after David and I made the barn
