Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Being freaked out. There is SOMETHING scuttling. At first I thought it was a mouse, because my stupid cat likes to bring them in and then let them go, alive. But actually, I can hear it RUNNING, whatever it is, so it sounds like something big.
I've had the two sofas out, turned upside down, the telly, wine rack chest of drawers, dresser, piano and computer desk all pulled out and looked under. Back now in complete havoc, as is the house. Have I found it? No. But I can still hear it. I am beginning to wonder if a squirrel or a rat has got under the floorboards or something. and it is creeping me out.

How strong you must be, pulling a piano out all by yourself

It's not an acoustic piano, it's a full sized electric piano. But yes, it was very difficult to move. Not quite as difficult as the Welsh dresser, though.
The scrabbling has stopped, so I assume that whatever it is has gone to sleep...

Wasn't it George Clooney in the box? (Or have I got confused?)
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.

AH!! Good thinking!! Maybe it was George running about under the floorboards? SparkOut, did you sneakily let him out?

I didn't let him out, no - I thought you set him to work practicing mining tunnels to help in the bank job. You should turn the music volume up a bit to drown out the sounds, then you'll have a real dress rehearsal.

Good thinking. He's probably quite good at that sort of thing, judging by his Danny Ocean exploits...

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
OK, all is well. George is now ready and primed to go. We have also managed to rescue the SWIFT which had presumably managed to fall out of next door's fascia, into the cavity wall gap, then work its way right the way under the floor so that it was trapped underneath my living room floorboards...
(Yes, the furniture had to be shifted again, the carpet taken up and the floorboards taken up...
)

Ivan's dad passed away yesterday from a secondary stroke and his mum is making progress. She still doesn't know about her huband. We have to tell her.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
So sorry to hear the news. That's doubly awful for you all. Love and prayers are with you.
