Well, let's see what Scurra says, because ultimately it is up to him and Gill. When I used to post the odd (and that could be taken either way!) puzzle in the members' puzzles bit, I either attached an Excel spreadsheet or I can also do a PDF (which I suppose might be better because then it prints out the same whoever opens it.) But I like the occasional acrostic puzzle, or something similar. It doesn't necessarily have to be really complex for us to enjoy them.

Hear, hear!

I'd love to be able to write an acrostic. What sort of program do you use?

Yes, before the pedantic people chime in, I know the weekend has gone. :)
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

If I was a complete pedant, I would point out that you didn't actually mention WHICH weekend.

If Wulfruna looks under 'Member Games' on the forum she will see that there is a precedent for posting random puzzles which have nothing to do with any other puzzles and certainly without any required input from Scurra
There's no point in having a last minute if you don't use it!

I think it's fair to say that Scurra has always said that he doesn't mind things like quizzes and forum games. But as the forum is, after all, specifically supposed to be a vehicle for the magazine, it's a bit different to be posting more magazine-like puzzles. I suppose that's what I'm querying. I wouldn't want to go off-piste from the purpose of the forum, and certainly wouldn't want to do anything with would detract from the idea that Scurra might be convinced into producing further issues for us without his blessing.

Scurra wrote:That doesn't mean that there aren't ideas that could be pursued to "fill in the gap" as it were - there are other puzzles out there that people here might like to share.

I would, however, appreciate any comments and/or suggestions people might have.
I would still like to know what the 'official' opinion is on the comments and questions that have been raised - and also what was meant by the comment above.

I am useless with ideas but what if teams was chosen like the testing teams and we come up with an idea that leads to the meta "word" but we only know our word and then we can participate with all the puzzles we haven't contributed to, and they all get released at the same time. The only thing I don't know is the time and effort that would be taken to upload these as I do not want to add to a burden that is already too heavily on scurra.

We could also pay a subscription to cover the cost of the forum and other expenses such as the website.
