More of the same, always struggling to build up a dare to hope and then something happens to come crashing down again.

Hope it's not as bad as it seems, SparkOut.x

I've just got back from the south coast - went for the weekend with some friends. Stayed in a nice enough cottage in Angmering, although it was a bit startling to discover that the garden had...wait for it...ASTROTURF!

Anyway, we had a stop en route in a village called Findon, went for a circular walk (using a guide from a 30 year old AA book of walks, which needless to say caused us to have to improvise quite a lot!) and stopped for a nice pub lunch. Yesterday we went and got blown along the coast for a while and then had another walk which incorporated a visit to the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum (no uniforms or barn construction this time, Scurra! ) which is well worth a visit if you happen to be in the area. Today we went to Arundel Castle and nearly got blown off the battlements. And now I am mostly...

...knackered!

... having a catch-up. 5 months of it!
I logged off on 30th October and just intended to drop below the radar for November, but as time went on I got less and less inclined to get back on the Forum.
So I've had 22 weeks of catching up to do.

 Wow. Nice to have you back though.

I must say, 22 weeks of catching up on the drivel we all talk must be quite, um...interesting?

Happy Easter y'all. :D

I gave up chocolate for lent this year. At the 8.00am communion service this morning, where I was the organist, I was eating chocolate and drinking tea from my thermal mug! :D :D :D

How lovely to have a reunion. :D I didn't have any bridesmaids (I was in "I'm NOT having a wedding that's like anyone else's, no way no how" frame of mind at the time. ) Are they all local to you?

We've been out to Roughdown Common rolling painted eggs down hills. I think Manon (she's French) was a bit gobsmacked by the whole thing. The REALLY bizarre thing was that someone else appeared to have been rolling Brussels sprouts down the hill!

Nice pics giraffe. :D
Am I right to guess you have a significant wedding anniversary on Tuesday?

We had an exciting afternoon - we defrosted the chest freezer in the garage.

I can absolutely recommend purchasing a frost free fridge and freezer. I haven't had to do any defrosting for years! :D To my mind, anything which stops me from having to do any housework is worth its weight in gold. But what I REALLY need is a very tolerant cleaner and an extremely fit gardener. :D

This was in fact more a case of taking everything out and deciding what we should throw away as it had been there rather too long.

 I still have some frozen chillies in my freezer which were given to me by someone I used to work with in the Department of the Environment in 1996!

Yes defrosting does make you re-evaluate the contents of the freezer.

25 years on Tuesday. I see two of the bridesmaids fairly regularly because after scattering to the four corners of the country three of us now live within 20 miles, but the other one we only seem to see once every three years or so. As one of them pointed out we have kept in touch for three times as long as we were at school together! It was pure coincidence that a rare get together coincided with our anniversary, but it seemed entirely appropriate to have a photo to mark the occasion.

...Walking up a mahousive hill and admiring the view of Corfe Castle (with the steam train passing in the distance!) then sitting on the beach doing puzzles. :D :D This is the life.
