Finished our epic walk - we did the last leg of the Ridgeway today - from Wendover Woods to Ivinghoe Beacon. Obviously this is mostly familiar territory for us now, but I was struck by just how lovely it is - great views. This bit also took in a bit of Tring Park too. I feel quite a sense of achievement now we've finished it!! :D :D

This bit was a lot more up and down...

:D Yes, I was quite chuffed with myself. I would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Proud of you Bunny. I started the Pennine way in sections but never managed to get very far.

On a plus, I've lost 5lbs since I got the e bike. Averaging 12 miles each ride now. I've conquered my fear of roads and traffic and finding little places I wouldn't have seen otherwise. Weather permitting I try to do that every day. :o

Been out for a lovely walk today, the wild flowers were splendid - masses of purple wild thyme, huge fields of poppies. Lots of birds spotted and heard - skylarks, swifts, yellowhammers, chiff-chaffs. Makes me feel glad to be alive. :D

We had a wonderful day on Dartmoor yesterday, exploring a new area near the source of the River Teign. We found a new route to the Scorhill Circle of standing stones - one of the ancient sites. It is quite an isolated area with wonderful views of empty countryside (well, about from a group of ponies.....) After all the dry weather we have been having, it was surprisingly easy walking - this is a notoriously boggy region normally but their are some reasonably good tracks to follow.
We also found some gorgeous wild flowers, including some I didn't recognise, and lots of beautiful grasses along the roadside.

It made us realise that we don't take enough advantage of living in such a lovely place!

Had a lovely walk from Dunstable Downs visitor centre today; it has been a lovely sunny day, even though it was freezing cold. We walked along the chalk escarpment, where you can see for miles and watch the planes towing the gliders up. The walk went via Whipsnade Tree Cathedral, then back on a circular route. It was only about 6 or 7 miles, but pleasant, and just what I needed after all the catering, drinking, socialising and eating!

Aaah...lovely. Went for a stroll (about 8 miles?) around the Gaddesdens, across the valley to Studham and back. Just a local walk but SO beautiful. Celandines, primroses and daffodils in the hedgerows, blossom in the trees and birds singing their hearts out. Bees busying themselves and butterflies enjoying the sunshine with their wings spread out. A day which makes me feel good to be alive. :) We are SO lucky, this is a truly breathtakingly beautiful country.

Yep :D Loving being back in the UK and seeing all the spring flowers.....unfortunately dont have the time to do the lengthy type of stroll you have done today - but pleased you have made the most of the good weather today.

I'm enjoying the few minutes in the garden every now and then and seeing the fruits of my very long labour in the autumn - given the garden had been neglected for 6 years!!

 I think my garden has been neglected for about 30 years...although I actually quite like it a bit "wild" - as my esteemed Mother used to say, weeds are only plants, after all. That's my excuse, and I'm sticking to it.
