problems with the internet in the UK?

I've been getting very slow loads yesterday and today from UK sites. Is there some kind of a problem with the internet?

There's a problem somewhere as every time I tried to p.m. you today this site logged me off

In fact it's still doing it. I'm logged on on the opening page and when I try to do something on the forum it logs me out either before or after I post.

yes, mine's a bit slow too (not just PB but internet in general)

It just seems to be sites that end in co.uk that I'm having problems with. German sites have been fine today. us as well.
Broken underwater cables? When that happened to us before, we could access China and Russia no problem, the rest of the world was very slow. Internet withdrawl for 2 weeks while they made repairs.

I've been okay at work too, in fact quicker lately but that could be cos I had a new work computer last week.
