A little more room in the accommodation would be accommodating. Cress works, I'm not too sure about dandelion. Dandelion and Burdock fizzy drink is pretty bleagh, so I guess not.

Cramped in a prison box is hardly "free".

Oh, all right then. Moan moan moan. You can't get the captives, these days. I'll let you out to stretch your legs just as long as you promise to stop moaning. You will note that neither the tortoise or George have made ANY comments on this forum, unlike SOME PEOPLE....

Today I saw the video my niece took out of her open (!!) car window of a black bear and three cubs - they are walking nonchalantly past her without a care in the world. She's just got back from Canada!! :D

We have goldfinches nesting in the garden and the day before we went on holiday the babies fledged, 5 of them, how they all fitted in such a tiny nest I'll never know.
The adults are still around and we are wondering if they'll have a second brood.

Our local blackbirds have suddenly got very aggressive, shrieking loudly every time we venture out into the garden - so I guess that their chicks have hatched out. But there's no chance of ever getting a glimpse as they nest deep in the middle of a neighbour's cypress tree! I expect we shall see them in a few weeks when they first escape the nest and explore around under the watchful eyes of Mum & Dad (more alarm calls....).

Can anyone give any tips on how to stop foxes pooing on our lawn? It's been happening every night for a couple of weeks now.

I'd love to know that too. They do that all the time here. They also find children's toys and play with them like a dog would, so we have chewed up footballs and things all over the place as well. The poo is quite revolting, isn't it? All black and nasty.

Yes, revolting. There's something called 'Scoot' that can be bought, but I just wondered if there were any home-made remedies or ideas to try out first. We keep chickens so we really don't want them visiting us every night, but also we're having to keep the children off the lawn as well.

I think that might repel me...

I have tried putting garlic round before, but that didn't help on its own. We didn't get any vampires, though, so that was good.

Coffee grounds help to repel cats if you spread them on the garden where cats poo. I could try that for foxes too but don't drink that much coffee (any more than one cup and you'd have to scrape me off the ceiling).

I will try your potion, Clvrlad, and let you know.

looking at the in depth analysis its a slowly changing long term thing

the only method that would def work is a 2 meter tall fence with over hang and an under cut
the best way is apparently find what's attracting them to your garden and sort that out

however this time of year means it could be cubs playing and smells work less on them

That would take me about three months of solid graft to do. They like it in my garden because it's such a jungle that there are lots of hiding places. I've just come in from having spent another two hours of solid bramble clearance...

I did look at my geraniums, but frankly, they don't have enough leaves to start sticking them into my cauldron. I might try some of the geranium essential oil I have instead. Yes, I really am an old witch.

Charming, I'm sure... Was it the witchy hair, green face and warts that gave me away?

Actually, no, don't answer that. I KNOW I've got witchy hair. Probably too old to have it this long but I don't care. It is a bit alarming when you occasionally get a wolf whistle from BEHIND from a white van man...then you find yourself wondering if they got to the other side and felt like crashing the van once they'd seen the boat race...
