We went to Bletchley Park yesterday. It has changed a lot since we all went 14 years ago! Could have stayed a lot longer, there was so much to see and do but didn't want to risk bad traffic round the M25 on the way home.

Well yesterday we went to Hughendon (not that far away) which, quite apart from being the home of Disraeli, turned out to have been a 'secret' WWII base as well!

Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

Ah, I didn't go to that Milton Keynes meet.
Yes, I think you came on the scene the following year. I have a photo from when Judith and I first met you when she was staying with me.
Haven't been to Waddesdon for years but I agree it's a lovely place. It really needs a whole day to do it justice.
We did once try to visit Hughendon on the way back from somewhere but the satnav took us to the wrong place - probably a disused entrance. So we gave up and came home instead!

But that has reminded me to add it to the list of places to try to visit when we find the time.

I think I was on the DVP site when you all went, but didn't feel like I knew people enough to go! I remember Judith sending me a photo of herself to show that she wasn't scary!

And did she look scary?
I remember you promised to wear purple.
Of course hardly any of us had met before we went to MK...

You were obviously much braver than me!
I've never been to Hughenden, which is silly really, as it's not that far away. I've been vaguely toying with the idea of getting a NT membership, but it's a lot of money!

We were given life membership as a retirement gift and it has really been great. We weren't sure how much we would use it in a year but have loved visiting places several times at different seasons. So while we have been visiting London this week it has been a chance to find some new places in this area - oh, and why not take Scurra at the same time??

I am in the Western Isles this week. Possibly longer if the weather does what's being threatened and the ferry home is cancelled on Friday. But that's ages away.

Oh dear!
We were getting rather concerned about catching the plane home on Sunday, as on Saturday night four inches of snow appeared! As we were several hours away from Keflavik this was a bit alarming. Luckily, the car hire company had given us a four wheel drive thing we hadn't actually booked, which certainly helped!

Lovely photos Bunnylump!
Looks like you had better weather than poor SparkOut! (Except for the overnight snow!)
I'm very jealous as I'd love to visit Iceland.

Driving home. Mostly northwards. It feels "comfortable" but still a bit strange when we cross the Scottish border just past Carlisle. For different reasons than it used to.

We've been doing all things "bonween" today. Witch hat hoopla and ping pong eyeballs went down well!

But oh, I ate too much haribo!

For some of today at least, if not mostly... out with P-Dawg up in the Fassfearn Estate. A grand view of the Ben today.
