Hi bunnylump

My mum was really skinny as a teen too and ever since has suffered with weight gathering life can be so cruel. I actually was quite overweight as a teen and then at 15 lost loads of weight after a bout of flu and mum refused to buy me any new clothes in case I put the weight back on. I didn#t until after my first born Kara. I remember a party piece on a school holiday just after was that i could breath in and spin and my skirt would stay where it was because it was so large!!

I am now of generous build and need to lose weight pretty soon or I think I will go beyond the point of no return:(

Its hard to get motivated thought!!

...walking with my friend. It was one of those walks which started with my now famous phrase "There's a nice footpath over here, I THINK I know the way..."

4 hours, several gate climbings, a field full of 6' high prickly stuff and a shut pub later we re emerged. Mind you it did turn into one of those lovely windy sunny days, and the wheat fields were that lovely beige-gold against the dark green of the woods, we heard a yellow hammer, saw a red kite and about 10 different species of butterflies, so who could fail to enjoy that? We are lucky really, I know I moan about where I live in chavsville, but I tend to lose sight of how fortunate I am to be able to walk for about 10 minutes and be in our glorious Hertfordshire countryside.

You sure you haven't been out walking with my OH. Two years ago at kinder scout in the peaks "oh lets go down here we will join a path soon" two hours going verticall down through bogs, shoulder high fern (well I'm only short) then we get to a river with no bridge so more scrambling over unsafe rocks till we find a place to cross by jumping over rocks. This is a typical walk with my OH

BTW I've told you before you are Rebenesque not overweight.

Maybe I should superglue myself to the ceiling dressed in a bit of floaty stuff. Image

Why, did you want to superglue me to her ceiling?

That is a lovely picture of you bunnylump, was it chilly posing for it?? and I'm sure a mirror on the ceiling would have the same effect ;)

Thank you for sympathetic messages - it is gradually improving, so I shall just have to be patient. The worst is overnight, when it hates me lying down and gives me agony if I try to change position. But it could be worse.... and my wonderful OH has been coping brilliantly with the cooking, which is not normally his forte..... (which is also rather nice, as it's not my favourite occupation either!)

Sorry Wulfruna, was too busy boosting bunny's morale and clean forgot to ask how you were.

Hope the cooking improves and you are back on your feet soon.

Well, not quite the same effect. My arm's aren't like a builder's like hers!

Wulfruna - a massage might help. Sometimes if you damage a muscle in your back the others go into spasm around the area. And it's a good excuse, isn't it? :D

Yes, we tried rubbing in some Algipan today - leaves a lovely warm glow afterwards..... and the massage is indeed soothing (though a bit wasted in the circumstances! :o  )

Come to think of it - that Rubens lady looks a bit like I did when I flew off that chair and floated to the floor......

Sorry to hear you're laid up Wulfruna.

.....cycling! We hired bikes and rode along the Camel Trail. (Nice and flat no humps in sight)

OH hadn't been on a bike for 30 years. He said it was the most fun he'd had in ages, despite hating every minute. (He was terrified he would fall off) I may not be able to sit down for a month, but it was a lovely mornign for a ride. Sunny, but with a nice breeze.

We did that trail when we were down there. Very nice, but it makes my rear ache just thinking about it. Sounds like you're having fun! :D

Doing packing avoidance. I hate it. :(

So folks, a nice quiet week ahead of you (I expect Scurra can't WAIT - he can have a rest from ear bashing  ). I'll probably come back and find I've been blocked from the site because Scurra's enjoyed the peace and quiet so much. :D

Please be patient if you are asking for hints, poor Gill is likely to be run off her feet. You'll all have to look after her and be nice to her. And next weekend, well, you'll probably get no sense out of anybody. So nothing new there then.

Also when we were on the camel trail ride i only ended up going into the hedge at the side of the trail 6 times and was only swore at once by this man who got angry because i couldn't go in a straight line and i was holding him up.

I got the hang of it by the end though :)

It must have been quite a fun thing to do though. Good idea to get used to cycling, could be very useful for university. :D
