Wind has died down at last. Need to wait until tomorrow to see if there has been any damage!

 You really are frisky tonight, aren't you? Me, I'm the model of sobriety. I've even watched a thing on the telly all about the Amish (sp?) tonight. Thinking of joining up, I reckon I'd look good in a headscarf. :D

EDIT sorry, just realised how offensive that comment was. Apologies to any Amish present.

 Thought you might like that. Mind you, you sound like you could do with watching something about ladies in headscarves clearing out chicken poo and reading the bible. They don't even hold hands before marriage.

Surveyed the damage - only a few slates off. Neighbours hut destroyed but Sainsbury is closed because part of the roof has been destroyed by the wind!

Ooo er. Sounds like you were quite lucky in the scale of things, Tricia.

PS sorry about the serious thread deviation. I don't know how we got from winter to Polish lap dancing, but there you go.

It's flipping chilly here at the moment.Which is probably why the stoopid tortoise has woken up. No sign of storms yet...

Devon is getting pretty battered at the moment - but not expecting the severe winds that hit Scotland..... We even finished our choral practice early, as people were anxious about getting home.

I actually couldn't believe the weather this afternoon. It suddenly went from bright sunshine to black. Then, out of nowhere, the wind went completely mad and started blowing the giant, heavy school bins over. It then started hailing HORIZONTALLY. The hail was really thick, and was clattering against the windows, it was REALLY loud. It was completely out of nowhere, and disappeared within about 20 minutes. Odd.

Snowing here, and settling. Worried that K might be stranded in B'ham as she is not expected back until 6pm. :?

Started snowing here at 1.45, just as we were getting the coal and wood in to light the woodburner as it was feeling chilly despite the central heating. Fire going well now and lounge warming up.
