I too am sitting here shocked to hear this news - she was so looking forward to that trip to Rome - and feel so sorry for Christine.

Thanks Bunny for letting us know - it must have been hard to have received that news - and thanks Gill for arranging flowers. I too will miss Tricia being around - and will remember her for her determination to tackle those puzzles including the cryptics!

Just received this back from Christine
Many thanks for your kind message.

If you wish to make a donation you could do so to MacMillan Nurses as that ws one of Trish's variety charities. They looked after our Aunt when she was ill and when she was making cards she always asked for a donation to MacMillan Nurses.

There have been many messages from the Forum which is much appreciated.

Christine
If anyone would like to make a donation, it's very easy to do online (I just did it and it only took a few moments) click on DONATE and follow the steps. http://www.macmillan.org.uk/HowWeCanHel ... urses.aspx

Finally found this. What a lovely twinkle she had in her eye. :)

I have just picked up the sad news - what an awful thing to happen :( .
I suppose that in a way it is nice that she was able to enjoy the holiday that she was looking forward to so much - I was glad to offer her a few tips beforehand and she told me that she had printed them out to take with them.... and would let me know about it all when she got back..... :(

How awful for Christine - it is something that I guess we all dread happening in the backs of our minds when going away, and it must have been a nightmare to make all the arrangements for returning home.

Thanks to Bunny for making the inquiries and discovering the news, and to Gill for thinking of flowers and greetings from us all.
Tricia was a very special contributor to Puzzlebrains and added great life to the forums - we shall miss the news from Scotland! (not to mention about Olly :? ) . She also actively shared in puzzle-solving and I shall miss being able to exchange PMs with her from time to time - the last ones only shortly before she went away, when we were racing each other to get to the Meta solution for 'Out of this World'..

Thank you bunny for letting me know the news.

I will miss TRicia very much as she spoke the same "puzzle" language I did.

God Bless and Goodnight! x

Tricia's funeral took place this morning.

I only found that out by ringing the Co-op funeral services who helped me no end and rang around all the other funeral parlours in the area for me. Well done Co-op. I'm now going to send flowers to Christine and just say simply that we are all thinking of her too. Several have asked to make conributions to flowers and I'm now going to order them. Some may now have decided to make donations to Macmillan nurses instead. All I'm asking is that if you have sent me money in whatever form but I haven't yet rec'd it can you let me know how much you've sent to me. If I do have the position where I've rec'd more than I've spent then I will donate the balance to MacMillan.

Is that OK with everyone?

I meant to post this much earlier today.

Flowers will be delivered to Christine tomorrow afternoon (30/5)with a very simple message which just says "Thinking of you, From All at Puzzlebrains".

Pastel colours.

I explained our position to the florist and let her be my guide as to what would be appropriate.

Would you thank everyone for the beautiful bouquet of flowers which arrived from Puzzlebrains yesterday. I have had a lot of support from Trish's friends, our family and friends.

Thank you again.

I just wanted to warn anybody that it is possible, as Christine picks up messages from me, that you will see Tricia's name coming up at the bottom of the site, which does seem rather unsettling. Unfortunately, Scurra is unable to change a user name without it potentially causing issues ( I had suggested maybe he could change it to "Tricia's sister", but this is not possible).

Also please be aware that if you used to speak to Tricia on Yahoo messenger, she may appear on there as Tricia too. She is trying to keep in touch with everyone who has been sending her best wishes.

Thanks to Gill for arranging flowers and to Bunny for keeping in touch with Christine and passing on our love and concern. And thanks for the explanation about the name cropping up from time to time - we quite understand the situation and are appreciative that the contact is still there.

Many thanks for your note and for the comments from all the other puzzle brainers. It was nice to get yours and their support.

The flowers arrived and very nice they are. The florist is actually quite near us and I never knew it was there.

Still can't belive she is no longer here but gradually getting there.

Thanks again

Chris
