Allo Allo

Accommodation and local places to visit will take a bit of research, so I will get the details up as soon as I can this week.

Allo Allo - accommodation

Please note I can't comment on the quality of any of these hostelries as I have not stayed in any of them. I suggest you use Trip Advisor and the like to make your own minds up.

There are two places that do B&B in the village (I only knew of one before this!)

The Castle Hotel http://sites.google.com/site/castlehoteleynsfordcouk/
This is in the middle of the village and directly opposite the village hall

Tabsfield http://web.me.com/tabsfield/Tabsfield/Welcome.html
This is an easy 5-minute (if that) walk from the centre of the village

There is also a farmhouse in the adjoining village that offers B&B - their advert in the parish magazine gives no name, but the telephone number is 01322 863900. I don't think it's walkable - you would have to take advice from them.

After that, we are looking at hotels that are between 5 and 10 minute drive away. Try this link: http://www.bedandbreakfasts.co.uk/prope ... playprops= - I suggest you limit yourselves to those in the Sevenoaks, DA4 link or you could find yourself on the wrong side of the river!

Also http://www.bedandbreakfasts.co.uk/prope ... =Sevenoaks Again, I suggest you stick to the TN13 link for the closest hotels.

I know Brandshatch Place - it's where I got married. It's a bit expensive but lovely. I also know Rowhill Grange - I spent my wedding night there - and ditto!

I hope this is helpful. Let me know if I can get any other info for you.

Well I've sent off a cheque for my ticket and am looking into accommodation next. At the moment Looby and I are planning on staying down there for both Friday and Saturday nights unless we will be the only two, in which case we will probably set off earlyish on Saturday morning so as to make the most of the day in that area. We are hoping to meet up with Dramaticat during the day too before she has to go off to get ready for the show. And afterwards there will no doubt be more drinking and talking somewhere before we go to sleep. Probably rather more drinking and talking than sleeping!

not really most places ive worked have guidelines for how many people can be off at once

for my sat afternoon shift or example
it needs to be a forklift driver who can also run packs, thats means one of five people including myself
factor in existing holidays and nights off.... it comes down to too many off already

anyway whens the meets for next year...ive put my full years holidays in last month.... but im sure i could tweek them if we have dates

Sorry I misunderstood your original post. I thought they were saying you had taken too many days off. I see you meant thet too many other people had booked it off. (I'm so dim it's a good job I don't try to solve puzzles  ) It is the beginning of half term, so I can see it would be popular.

:-p oops oh in that case....

by law they have to give you 5.something weeks including bank holidays
(Think its 5.7 but could be wrong should look...)

but you have to take at least 4 weeks and they arent allowed to buy holidays of you any more...
but when and how there arranged is upto mutual agreement usually how speciied in contract or by tradition at your place o work
with out guidelines you have to give twice as long as the length of holiday in notice that your planning to take holiday leave and they have till the length of the holiday b4 to disallow it

not that i know anything....

I'm pleased to say that both Ian's health and the Allo Allo rehearsals are improving every day! Just over a week to our first night - eek!

The tickets for the second weekend are selling really well - the Saturday night when some of you are coming is now 85% sold. Please would those of you who have yet to pay for your tickets take this as a gentle reminder that I need payment as soon as possible now. Cheque payments to Riverside Players can be sent to me at: Devonshire, Pollyhaugh, Eynsford, Kent DA4 0HF. If you'd prefer to pay by card, drop me a PM and we can arrange a time to speak. I'm not bothering to switch the box office phone on much as nearly all our transactions are online now (hooray!), so let me know what is a good time for you and I will make sure the phone is answered!

It's not the group's policy to reserve tickets for payment on the door, except for bookings taken a day or two before the performance. I know the last night will sell out, so I do need payment from those people who are coming, or let me know if you no longer need your ticket and I can release it for sale. I need to have your payments by the beginning of next week. If you have any problems, please would you PM me to let me know what is happening.

I'm really looking forward to meeting those of you who are coming - and to having friends in the audience. I don't usually get anyone coming to see me because nearly all my friends are in the drama group!

Seats for 'Allo 'Allo! are now to be released back for general sale except for those that we have already contacted Dramaticat. Any late deciders might still be able to get seats but not for long.

But if anyone is thinking about joining us for the day but not the show then there is still time to come forward. General info will be posted here but unless I or one of the other attendees knows of other folk who are interested we won't be able to let you know of any last minute plans/timings.

Trains take about 40 minutes from London and a return ticket is £9 I think. Anybody interested?

I'll pin my colours to the mast - I've got train tickets to/from London in my pocket and the seat for the show is paid for. I plan to travel in some time on Saturday for a get-together, the show, and overnight stop at wherever we finally decide. Heading back into London any time on Sunday.
