I had a nudge from bunnylump, not that she realised it was helpful at the time and my brain is so addled that I couldn't get it to accept my answwr even when I had the answer.

(In my dfence I claim diminished resposibility from two weeks of staring at it. Sorry LAT.)

Well done Giraffe, (Kept that one a bit quiet, despite being in the same room/garden for most of the day :) )

Ah yes, Giraffe, but it was only when you laughed at my ridiculous ramblings about what went where to start with that you helped me!! Actually, come to think of it you laughed when I knew how to get the final answer and still couldn't do it. (Couldn't read) . Oh, and Scurra laughed at me because I'd spent 4 hours and produced absolute nonsense. I swore at him I think.

I must say, I take my hat off to LAT who did this totally on her lonesome without anyone laughing at her, or inadvertently hinting. She was the model of propriety and managed to keep a straight face when I was ranting at her and threatening Scurra with death.

Oh yes, and at this point I will admit that I did try a certain well known singer's name just for the hell of it in absolute desperation.

Oh yes, a totally restrained and logical process from me, as usual.

I think Scurra might dispute that. There definitely were some hints in his replies to me after some of my more rambling theories as to what to do. I just had to make sense of what he was telling me. And of what he wasn't telling me too. I tended to assume if I didn't get an answer to a question there was usually a reason. Even then it took me a long time to put all the ideas together.

Well done Katsmom. I knew you'd get there; you'd been practically pushing at an open door for days!

I have to say, I loved the traitors shield. It fits so well with the overall theme.

Gosh I want to add more, but I know I will get snipped.

Yes me too. I think I may have made a comment somewhere else which really should have been snipped, (I didn't realise it was relevant at the time but luckily everyone missed it!)

 Kingsley is close and I can just see her going back through all the posts trying to find that bit you posted Bunnylump.

What gets me is that I stared at that set of words for such a long time before it came to me. And even then it didn't I was trying to enter something in French

Oh I didn't miss it. I just couldn't comment because you hadn't solved the puzzle at the time and I didn't want to tip you off

Sorry about that. But the good news is that I post so much anyone would have to want their bumps read to look back over all my drivel to find it.
Anyway, congratulations, Katsmom! :D

he was nice to you bunny, I posted a little something he thought was a spoiler and not only did I get edited, but he didn't comment on it, and he told me off in a pm  I guess I was too naughty for a regular snip.

Ah yes, but your comment was in the actual magazine forum. Bunny's was... somewhere else. :D

Was it? I was thinking I said it in a song

Although I did have a streak of mad rantings to myself that got snipped as well.

Wow - I finished at last! I enjoyed working out the shields once I got the hang of what was going on. But then I nearly drove poor Scurra up the wall with my total failure to spot the final method for identifying the conspirators - despite the number of hints on offer
