I don't want any snow either.

Aha! My cunning plan will fool her completely. Oh. Did I say that out loud?

Welcoming my gorgeous grandson for the Easter holiday ..... oh, and his parents of course...... :D :D :D
So I don't think you'll be hearing much from me for the next week while I undulge in lots of grandmotherly duties/cuddles. He's just 11 months old, so showing a real interest in what's going on - a big difference from when we saw him at Christmas !

....hunting. Houses for Granny this morning, easter eggs this afternoon. (Well we sat and had a cup of tea while the kids hunted eggs with their cousins)

Then my lovely husband took me to look for an anniversary present, but we didn't find what he was looking for. (But as he says it's the thought that counts and he thought about it  )

Easter egg hunting on a Saturday? What's the world coming to?

I've bin...allegedly going to Homebase with my friend to get some pansies, which I managed to transform into a nice walk in the country and a visit to the pub!! (Pansies can wait). And, having been inspired by watching Ashes to Ashes, got a 1980s vibe and decided to remind myself what Pernod and black was like!!! (I didn't have the bob haircut with the hairclip and high heels to go with it though!). I'd forgotten how nice it is!

Oh and Wulfruna, give him a squidge from me :D

I watched Ashes to Ashes, but I'm afraid to say it didn't inspire me to try Pernod and black. Am I getting too old? :(

This evening we went to some friends' daughter's 18th birthday party. At the door the bouncers asked if our two children had ID on them. I responded that my daughter was 22 and my son 20, nearly 21. to which the bouncers said " are you sure?"
You'd think I would know!!

They didn't ask you for ID then? You know, that always pees me off...

My niece, who is 27 still gets asked for ID wherever she goes. I think it's because she's very petite, with blonde hair. Whereas my son, who is about 6'4"" has not been ID'd from the age of 14.

my claim to fame is that i got id'ed when i was about 32 on holiday in america with 3 children who were aged 6,5 and 2 - not sure how young they thought i could be with a 6 year old (nearly 7) - but was secretly rather pleased at the time - once i started laughing they didnt insist although he did say i would need to bring it with me next time:)

Well, you'll be pleased to hear that I managed to talk my son and his girlfriend into decorating eggs, going out for a picnic in Wendover woods and doing egg rolling after all. The eggs were fairly scary this time because some of them had glitter and ribbons on, and I coloured one of mine in with a felt pen which was "smokey bacon scented", which was a bit of a mistake. My husband's one (which I'd decorated to look like a creme egg) broke up and got muddy, so he ended up washing it in apple juice before he ate it.

Still, nice picnic, nice walk and good fun on a lovely sunny day. :D :D

Not sure I'd go for a muddy/applejuice flavoured egg though.

No. And the smoky bacon scented pen had seeped through to the egg as well. :) My son's were the most artistic. He did one which looked like it'd been tatooed. :D But then this is the boy wh made me a mother's day card which a picture of me floating down into the sea on a parachute... :? (See, I'm not the strangest person in my family. Honest...) In fact we have his new camera's memory card in our photoframe thing at the moment. There are some interesting pictures of things like baked beans, his carpet, and one looking up his girlfriend's dog's nose...

No, just very typical of him. He is a very strange boy. Likeable, irritating, and strange. He got voted "best zany personality" in his year book from school. I can't decide if that's good or bad... :?
