I'm refusing to allow a Christmas tree into the living room until all the junk is removed from there... For some unknown reason it's apparently necessary for stuff waiting to go to the tip (which is too heavy for me to lift) eg 2 old tellys and a broken drumstool needs to be kept in the living room. :x We are SO flash round here...

One of our cats used to try to climb the tree and most of them have enjoyed drinking from the water trough.
At the moment our tree is still waiting to be brought inside. The ceiling over where we usually put the tree looks as though it is about to come down  (we had the flat roof above repaired last week) so we should maybe resist bringing the tree in until that has been sorted. Our house is therefore still very un Christmassy. :(

I just have to look at the house two doors down. It's like something else this year. The woman told me two weeks ago "This year it's going to be really CLASSY". Well, if you can call a giant 8 foot inflatable snowman, two moving reindeer, flashing Merry Christmas signs, lights all different colours all over the house, garden, roof, fake snow CLASSY...

Mrs next door has been very restrained this year. (No illuminated Ho Ho Ho or reindeers on the lawn) The front windows have a total of about 20 different illuminated pictures in them though, and various other illuminated items in front garden.

Our tree and lights go up tomorrow. I've been saving it for F to do as he has broken up, and tomorrow's planned power cut has been cancelled, so we will be able to test that the lights work.

I spoke too soon

Mrs Next Door has put up the other half of her decorations. A herd of illuminated reindeer on the front lawn, and the Ho ho ho sign and the huge Merry Christmas sign and new for this year...... a four foot high rotating inflatable father Christmas, and a few other sundry items. :o

It's the London Underground map. Except that all the little yellow flags are actual tube trains moving around the network as you watch!
And, six months later, it's finally back up and running again. (Transport for London have actually listened to people and upgraded their systems, rather than telling us all to go away. Makes a nice change... :))

I loved Joseph's newsfeed "Joseph just bought a cow and a donkey".

Reminds me of a Christmas card I saw - Joseph's holding baby Jesus up at a computer and saying:
"Nice going son - fifty million friends on Facebook already."
