Awww, thanks! No cake here though. The highlight of my day so far has been doing my tax return. Exciting hey?

You need some puzzles ....if you have resorted to filling in your tax return on your birthday!

It's the obsessive part of me. Can't relax knowing it needs to be done.

Definitely quite satisfying to get it done though. Nicer than having it looming over you. But there are more exciting ways to spend a birthday.

Well, nothing much exciting has happened, because no plans were made, because my little sister (not Lilsis, the other little sister) is due to give birth today. Apparently the new arrival wants to have a birthday to herself though, as there's no signs of anything happening yet.

Happy Birthday Laura! It doesn't have to be exciting to make it enjoyable as a different day in any case.

Thank you for your good wishes. I've had a good day but need more vases. Both my son and daughter brought huge bunches of flowers. They look lovely but I'm afraid I'm no flower arranger.

 I know what you mean. I do love getting flowers but I always panic about how rubbish they will look by the time I've finished cramming them into a vase! Glad you had a good day.

Talking of flowers I had a dilemma last weekend. Friends came for supper and one of them brought me a bunch of lilies. Those of you who are cat owners will know they are lethal to moggies. I had to risk it while my friends were there and hope our cats would stay clear of the vase but since then I have put it in a room that we are not letting the cats into. This is a shame as it also means I don't get to see the lilies so much but it seemed the best solution. What would any other cat owners have done? And should I tell my friend at some time in the future or keep quiet and hope the situation doesn't arise again?

It suits me - I can't stand the smell of them!

I must admit I don't like the smell much either - but these lilies are really beautiful, a glorious pink colour.

You should tell your friend how beautiful they were and how well they lasted, and make a joke about how you even managed to keep them away from the cats, because you wouldn't have wanted such lovely flowers to finish Moggy off.
