Gill, I go on holiday for a week on Monday morning, to camp, with no internet connection. And the new magazine is coming out. I need to rattle through it. It's only taken four months to get to this stage!!! And although you're only dealing with me on here, there are actually two of us working on it at this end!

So Dad will be solving the meta while you are gone

And Laura,

We know that's often the case, nothing wrong with that at all. It is nice to hear it openly though ;)

It works well. He understands cryptics. I don't. He can't stand sitting and doing sudokus, I can. And he won't be doing the meta puzzle. That's not allowed! Not unless one of us has said 'That one's yours'.

I like working with someone else on puzzles - it makes it more fun. I've enjoyed working with Gill on test solving and in the past I've enjoyed working with Strep on Vladikazkav's mystery puzzles. I'm sort of hoping that when I'm back on the forum I'll find myself some solving buddies (mind you, they do have to have the patience of Job with me 'cos I'm quite thick!!)

STOP putting yourself down you brainy so-and-so!

From our messages over the past couple of years, I think the way our two brains work would make an interesting team... If only you lived closer ;)

Today I've mostly bin..

Working the second weekend day in a row for the Sunderland International Air Show. A great event, but when you've got to get your Computer Bus on site before they close the roads, and then back to it's depot after the public have cleared it does make it a LONG pair of days.

I drove back to the depot so easily last night I didn't think too much about tonight (and made annoucements about when I'd be home)..... Didn't count on the fact the Red Arrows were closing the show and where people drifted off as yesterday afternoon progressed, the crowd actually built UP as this afternoon went on.

Result?........ GRIDLOCK

Still - back home now and having a quick look at the pile of puzzles still left from the current issue. [May be dropping Hints a message if I don't go to sleep] ;)

Aah, I did wonder if there was a reason they started the display today (at about 12.30) at Farnborough whereas yesterday they had finished the show. I had a pretty good view for free from the firing ranges near us. I even took my cup of tea up there yesterday afternoon.

I didn't go anywhere today so as to avoid the traffic as yesterday was pretty bad. I either did circuitous routes or got stuck in queues (or both!). Now there are two days for everything to be dismantled and taken away and then my journey to work (past the back of the airfield) will get back to normal.

Good luck Laura - what a lovely place to be, if the weather stays fine :D And if not, then maybe a few puzzles will keep you occupied?

Today I saw the tent puzzlers  5 youngsters, mum and dad had obviously never assembled a tent before. They started with the door on the floor and proceeded to insert the poles, concertina style until they got to the back. (With five youngsters its a big tent! ) Then they upended it and tried to stretch it out full length before pegging it at all.... 4 hours later...

The next bit frightens me. Mum rolled up the window covering and put the gas cooker right below the rolled up curtain. Thank goodness its forecast for rain in the morning..

5 Kids in a tent! They'll need a holiday to recover from that.

.... long drive today (Liverpool and back - appointment - don't ask), but had a nice surprise to return to with the new mag arriving in the post :)

Home safe now, and probably aiming for an early night (after a VERY early morning start).

...helping my daughter put up display boards in her new classroom. Breaking every health and safety rule in the book, probably, clambering over cabinets on wheels and all sorts... :) It looks really funky though!! (I had a say in the colour scheme, which is always dangerous... )

getting ready for my holidays on Saturday. Organised my esential reading printed puzzles, source info from the net. I will not have time tomorrow as Olly has to go to the cattery and that will be a battle . Its like watching Tom from tom and Jerry as you scrape tom off the wall!

what a stressful evening - could not find Olly's vaccination record for the cattery !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Phoned the vet and asked if they could make up a duplicate for me to pick up. They asked if I could get ther in 20 minutes they would have one made up. The came the fun Olly definitely DID NOT want to go in the basket.

Then we drove to the vets which is the opposite direction from the cattery, picked up the duplicate drove towards the cattery passing the house on the way. Olly was really confused then.........................

We arrive at the cattery and the b....r goes out of the baskrt jumps up to his bed and turns round and gives a look that said What's all the fuss about

At least he is safe - I shant worry now

Won't have access for 2 weeks. Hope everyone enjoys there holidays!

Tricia :D
