I'm mostly packed. Need to be up at 3am :( We normally go for flights at civilised times, but the only option was 6.20am, so early start.

...playing ukulele in a hospital ward. My niece (who had randomly gone out in her lunch break to buy a sandwich and had come back with a ukulele) brought it in to the hospital to show my Mum. So what do you do with a ukulele apart from give it a go? (Never played one before, strange things - the strings are tuned GCEA, but the bottom string is an octave higher than you'd expect). Managed to work out the chords to "when I'm cleaning windows" pretty easily though... Not sure what the other patients thought about the mad hospital visitors ... This randomly set Mother off singing the Eriscay Love Lilt. Before we know where we are she'll get confined to a soundproofed cell...

Today, I've mostly bin...

puzzling with my lil' sis, and brother-in-law, and nephew (and with some success too, I might add! )

I just thought I'd share Bun's reaction to the new magazine with you all. As ever, resize or remove if you need to Scurra.

Absolutely, and the most worrying thing is that he looks far more convinced that he knows what's going on most of the time than the rest of us do!

awww, so cute!

and we have to start them early given the time it takes to make sense of Scurra's puzzles, although Thomas seems to prefer Bunny's having appropriated the last issue some time ago!

Go on men. You know you think he's cute too. And we won't think any the less of you if you go all unnecessary on us. Scurra - that must be your youngest fan!!

I think he's quite cute too! :D
But I'm slightly biased.

Today I discovered that the best way to get Laura to solve puzzles is to threaten not to feed her until she has :-P

Hello everyone, by the way. I'm Laura's lil sis.

Now that's an unusual method lil sis... Does starvation help then? I don't think I've tried that one yet... There you go lil bro, if you hadn't eaten that half a chicken the other day you'd have finished another puzzle... And next time you tell me you're stuck I'll just accuse you of eating too much chocolate...

It was cruelty of the most extreme kind! No dinner until two puzzles were solved!!! To be fair, there was only the last step to do, but seriously, it sometimes takes weeks to get that final stage. I could have been gnawing on the armchairs by the time they'd been finished!!!!

  Excellent!! I have to say I'm with you there. I seem to take DAYS to do what other people seem to whizz through in minutes...

Go on then Laura. We'll expect another puzzle solved by the end of the evening. Or the muffins get it.

PS If you're offering, I like muffins... :D
