... also celebrating a wedding anniversary! Its leather apparently rather than sapphire which isn't quite as exciting. But we got chickens to celebrate anyway, so will be having half of the first little egg each for lunch. :D

Today I saw my youngest grandson off to school in his uniform. I now have my week to myself as I'll no longer be collecting him from nursery. What can I do with all this spare time?? :P

mostly bin... watching the BBC film their new period drama in my office building! (I say 'building', I mean 'courtyard' - we've a large cobbled courtyard in the middle, and have to go over a balcony over it to go to the loo! (I work in Manchester Town Hall)) Mind you, since a lot of the recent Sherlock Holmes film was filmed here, it's a good use of a wonderful building. Apparently Richard E Grant and Gillian Anderson are in it, but we haven't seen them yet. At least when they were filming Sherlock, we got to see Jude Law.

Watching them build the set last week was fascinating. Started out as v.obviously modern wood, but then they started painting. Amazing job really. Although we could have done without the pig dung they put down - didn't see the pigs that went with it, or the horse that was apparently there as well the other night.

For some reason trips to the loo have taken much longer than usual lately!
Perseverance: - the courage to ignore the obvious wisdom and carry on anyway

Of course. I don't get away that easily. Although my OH watched them last night (my daughter & I were at Edinburgh Festival and son-in-law at football) and he had a horrendous time. Evidently 2 days at school was to much for new start and his elder brother. And we have them staying overnight tonight. + their dog.

You're obviously too kind for your own good. :D Not much puzzling for you this evening I guess.

Where were you when my two were growing up? ;)

....Scurrying around trying to get everything sorted before I go off to Germany tomorrow for a week's conference (on issues related to women in European society), where I shall be helping with taking minutes and with any translation work that might be needed. Should be interesting.
Hopefully I will manage to get access to a computer and internet - and possibly even some free time for puzzling in between (!!) - but can't guarantee it, so you may not hear from me for a while....

I absolutely agree. The only problem is that every time the sun has come out there always been something happening that has stopped me doing many bike miles this year. Hey Ho. Not much chance to ride it, so polish it instead. Not as much fun but quite satisfying non the less.

Plus, the advantage of having jigged my back means I have actually been able to spend some time puzzling. :D I'd almost given up hope of being able to get back into it after the first part of the year.

Anyway, supposed to be a nice day tomorrow so maybe I'll be able to fire up the bike and..... Alas, no, the kids want to go to the pictures to see Shrek. WHY couldn't they have decided that today while it's been drizzy and mizzy. Honestly, I despair.

Today I've mostly bin...

...told by the bank that if my account ends up with more than £9million in it, then it will revert to a lower rate if interest.

Erm, if my account ends up with more than £9million in it, then they can give me whatever rate of interest they like!!! I don't know where they think that amount of money is going to come from. :?

..... Cooking for tomorrow and faffing around trying to get a cd done before my family descend to celebrate Mum's birthday.

House is a tip, but I'm shattered, so I think that will have to wait for the morning.

busy at work - cant believe how exciting it can be when you get involved - probably will go wrong as my brother desperately hates me being there but the staff like it so I will poke my oar in for their sake. - also v busy organising a 21st birthday party for my daughter (its on par with a wedding) and my oh has decided to decorate my son's room (partly pushed by my son who is too embarrassed for his girlfriend to see how he really lives) - serious overload

bunnylump - hope you are coping - anything i can do just shout. i am a v good listener.
