Just trying to be contrary? Or as a cover in case she did mispronounce words inadvertantly?

went to Wisley this morning. There was a flower festival on and a sculpture trail in the grounds and the queue to get in was massive. Still it was very interesting and there was lots to see. On the way out we wondered why there was no sign of anyone on the way in, until we got to the main road and saw that the police had set up a road block. So some poor people would have queued for ages and not even been allowed in when they got to the front of the queue.

I should now be packing as we are off in the morning (summer hols at last, even if only for three days) but I'm trying to summon up the energy. I do have most of the stuff out, just haven't checked how it will all fit in the two little cases. Or even if.
I'm also compiling a list for my son of things he must remember, like water the tomatoes, feed the cats, lock the back door at night.
One of the cats is currently trying to catch a moth. Problem is she is inside but the moth is outside so she's not being particularly successful.

Thanks both! :D

Now nearly packed. And son has written a reminder to himself to feed the cats :)

driving home from Devon...
why do holidays never last long enough? Had a really good time visiting Wulfruna, and Scurra came along for a few days as well.
Thomas had a fab time - being totally spoilt (especially by his grandad) and we might just post some pics on the Holidays thread once I download them - which I'd better do this weekend or my dad won't be happy!

:D Sounds like you had a lovely time. And if grandad can't spoil his grandson, then who can?

..."working" with my husband.
He had a job to do in an office which involved taking air conditioning units out of a suspended ceiling. And he wasn't allowed to do it on his own for health and safety reasons (there was no one else in). So muggins here had to sit for 4 hours in the office doing sweet fa. Can't understand why, if I wasn't worried about him why THEY were...

Gosh, I do lead such an exciting life, don't I?

Well, I've had a much more exciting day. I've been to Stokesley Show, which I'm led to believe is like the Great Yorkshire Show but a bit smaller. Saw many fruits and vegetables in all shapes and sizes, chickens, ducks, pigeons, geese, sheep, goats, cows, horses etc, cakes, scones, biscuits, knitted things, stalls of all sorts of yummy things to eat and drink, tractors, machinery and clothes. (and probably some other stuff I've forgotten!)

Also got to spend the day with my lovely sister and brother-in-law, and nephew, who fell asleep on me halfway around and was generally adorably cute and cuddly!

I USED to be like that about my nephews. But now they are 6 foot 3 and 6 foot 5 and a half they're not quite so cute... About time I got some grand children or great nephews, isn't it? Still, I've labeled myself "Auntie Bunnylump" for Thomas (whether he likes it or not)... I'm hugely jealous of Redfraggle and Pebbles...

No - now they think you're their cute aunt ;)

Past couple of days I'be bin.... feeling lousy :( Just a bug, but making me feel like death warmed up.

Thursday night I woke up about every half hour with streaming nose and body aches.

Friday at work I forced myself in, but even my line manager said I didn't look great. [Then in the team meeting in the afternoon there was an agenda item on illness and absence  Cracking down on people taking sick]

Friday night the explosive sneezing joined the snottieness and the body aches. My chest and throat felt like they were on fire. Not much sleep this night either. At least I roused myself to take tablets at 4am rather than just rolling over and closing my eyes again.

Yesterday I needed to drive my wife and her friend down to the Lake District for a week away. Once there and the gear unloaded [HOW can she take so much for a week away???] I got back in the car for the drive home....... and it wouldn't start :o First time I've ever needed to use the RAC, but they were great.

[Note Of Caution. When unloading a fully loaded car - don't leave the doors and boot all open at once. All those internal lights drain the battery like nothing on Earth :( ]

Took a VERY slow drive back with stops for rest, food, fuel, and looking after Jennie who is under my care for the week. Then when I got home I just flaked out for the night.

I feel a bit better this morning with my chest still sore as I cough. The skin on my nose and top lip has totally dried out from wiping my nose, and I'm still taking painkillers. Hopefully I'm on the mend.

Spent the morning watching people far fitter than myself during the TV coverage of the 30th Great North Run. [Rather them than me]

Just started catching up on what you lot have all been chatting about :) Maybe I'll actually get some puzzling done this week???

Oh poor you, MBH (and Laura) hope you are on the mend soon. MBH - you'll have to get Jennie to look after you. :D Shame you're so far away, I can do a good Florence Nightingale impression with home made chicken soup and a tepid flannel!!

Well, it makes a change from MBH, clvrlad or me queuing up to get there first.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".
