For me, it was certainly a birthday to remember as the day the country went into the first phase of lockdown
The beginning of a new era
After all, I am now a year further on in the "over-seventies" category
Having decided that for once we would celebrate with a meal out at our favourite restaurant (a very rare treat!) we unfortunately had to abandon that in favour of an extra trip to Tesco to buy a "finest" meal in, which was still very special, but not quite the same. But we did make our annual trip to the Garden Centre to buy in my usual birthday present of bags of compost and a fresh supply of lime and potash - oh, and a redcurrant bush to replace the one that died last year
I've been out for a short hobble (stupid knee's gone again - must be getting old!) and a lovely pub lunch at that pub that David Cameron famously left his daughter in near Chequers!
