Want to swap? Mind you I'd find it quite hard to find a selling point for mine...

Don't worry. One's enough! And I was only proposing the swap for washing and ironing purposes!!

Well when I was unavoidably detained on holiday once (long story) and my OH was here without me for 2 weeks he went out to buy more underwear and socks rather than work out how to use the washing machine

I shall have to have words with HIM. Disgraceful!! (Now LOOK Brian. This is what you're setting yourself up for. You may end up with a deputation, with placards and everything!!)

Send a deputation with pacards and slogans --- I've the rugby club at the end of the road and the lads are looking for some light exercise during the summer. Shifting a lot of demonstrators should hardly raise a sweat!

Should have known better than advancing THAT solution!

Ann is now out of hospital and thinks she now has the right to order me around. Don't think it will take long to disabuse her of that thought.
Pushing her around the hospital grounds onMonday night saw the junior doc from her ward sneaking off early. So I grabbed him and said if she is only on anti biotics she might as well be at home looking after me and I will make sure she keeps on talking the tablets. When he agreed I took my foot off his throat and he said he would recomend release to the Senior man in the morning. Sure enough Tuesday morning the Consultant agreed she should depart, and asked that an ambulance be made ready. Alarums and exercursions all afternoon until Ann rang me at 5.50 with the news that none of the ambulance drivers at Preston seemed to know where Salford was and could I get up there to pick her up. So I battled through the traffic and thunderstorms to get her back home (Never realises how well she is looked after)
I had spoken to the manager of the local wheelchair unit to see if I could borrow one temporarily, she told me to get the physio's at Preston to measure Ann up, fax the details down to her and one would be made ready. Needless to say the physio's refused to do any work for another authority, so Ann rang the wheelchair place this morning to be told that without the authority of a Doctor or physio there was no way they can issue a chair. Why can't these NHS authoritarian jobsworths get their act together.
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

I just got this message from Brian's daughter:
Hi

You probably won’t get an answer from Brain as he’s in plaster and can’t climb the stairs very well (his computer’s in the back bedroom!). Mum’s hobbling well and dad hopping (mad really). He’s pulled his Achilles tendon and has got his leg in plaster. They’ve (the ubiquitous ‘they’) given him a zimmer frame so he and mum can have races around the house, to see who can get there first!!

Dad will reply soon- I’ve got to move the whole contraption downstairs so he can answer his own e-mails!!

Regards

Fiona (Brian and Ann’s daughter)

Ouch! Hope they, and their house, survive their hobbling. Good luck Fiona!
