And which page were the apples on? :?
On plenty of Word Zendo pages!

Scurra always offers apples and bananas on the word zendo thread.

Apples have also been offered as bribery for hints. You know who you are :D Bananas wont work either.

I think I had every kind of fruit smeared over my mantle when I was the Mistress in the word zendo game, so many in fact that I couldn't remember which ones I was being offered at one point! :?

Bunnylump has decided that she'd like to share her prize with LAT and Sparkout, in recognition of how close they all were at the finishing line, and for the hints and shoves that passed between them.

See your PM's Sparkout and Laura. A free issue each.

That to me sums up the true spirit of this forum and community. :D

Miss, miss! She's stealing my ideas again!

An enormous thank you to Bunny. Would it be extremely churlish of me to refuse to directly accept and suggest I might "pass on the gift" of issue 1 to someone who may then become a subscriber? (Not that I know any suitable people that I haven't already done that for!)

I'll add my congratulations to the big soft fluffy purple bunny as well :) (You wonder why I keep telling her off for putting herself down)

Just for the record - I've finished as well.....

.... well I've done the Codebreaker anyway. :!: Very sneaky making look like a swine (offering 3 supposedly rubbish letters) and then finding it's the easiest one I've done :o After doing that I was hoping the idea spread through the book - looking fiendish but actually giving you all the information you needed once you got started..... It appears NOT!

thanks SparkOut and thanks for the big pushes in the right direction. Still have no idea what a fish has to do with anything but through brute force and ignorance i managed to get the name from my last few letters.

Fish? What does Fish have to do with art? Oh yeah, Escher! But surrealism was done? What art type is left? Fish? Fish! Fish?

I assumed the fish and bananas were just surreal moments from Scurra.

This one still surprises me - even thought I tried to make the last answer resistant to that, people still seemed to prefer that route to the somewhat easier route of actually solving the puzzle

(And yes, the fish is relevant. Or not. It depends upon which way you look at it. One thing to remember about puzzles is that the setter always includes things for a reason. Sure, red herrings are sometimes the reason, but only a badly-structured puzzle would just arbitrarily add things that aren't needed at all. I'm glad someone spotted the bananas though.)
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".
