 Quite!! Hope you're feeling more relaxed and mellow now, giraffe! :D

Here's my seasonal whinge...
Somewhere I mentioned that although my OH is Corgi registered, our own boiler never gets serviced, didn't I??

Guess what? Last night (Christmas evening) the pump on our central heating stopped working. None of the suppliers are open on Boxing Day, so guess who has a freezing cold house and a dismantled boiler all over her son's bedroom??? Grrrr!

Cor, you must have been desperate!

Isn't it nice having somewhere where you can come and rant about stuff, where no-one is going to get upset with you, and there's bound to be someone to lend an understanding ear?

Hurray for Puzzlebrains website and the whinge thread!!! :D

Having read all this I feel brightened by the fact that the only blot on my Christmas - apart from still not being able to find my address book or Mum's so none of my cards have been posted! - is that Mum lost the plot Christmas Day, wanted to go home as her mam would be cross she'd been away so long (she's lived with us for 3 years now) and ended up hiding from my husband who is wonderful to her and had been talking to her in the kitchen where she had gone to get away from grandsons and great grandchildren, not having a clue who any of them were. She opened one present OK and then got very confused, and ended up sitting in the kitchen while we had our big family Christmas dinner. It was the first time we'd all been there, son No 2 hasn't been able to come home at Christmas for 6 years and as he got married 18 months ago it was Julie's first time. But yes, we did have a lovely day.
Just off to run the village party for 60 kids and assorted mums, dads and grandmas - yes, I do know all my neighbours, I know everyone in the village! And our postman is wonderful but retires in January. And not been told addresses is extremely annoying when you edit and print the run-on-a-shoestring community newspaper which goes all over the world, 360 posted copies, and you find after months that you've been posting out a sub to someone who has moved or died!

Btw, if anyone wants to have a sneaky peek at life up here, look at highlights of the paper online - www.westword.org.uk

Happy festive season everybody!!!

That must have been distressing, Scarletannie, I'm sorry you had all that on your plate. Mind you, let's be honest, Chistmas day is a very stressful day for some of us, so maybe it was just all a bit much for her. I could happily have run away and hidden a few times myself! The magazine was interesting BTW(but seems like another world to mine)!

Just reding this - have to say I had a very quiet time on Christmas - just me my sister and the CAT!!!!!!. Wh went to bed on Christmas eve with all the oarcels looking very prety under the tree. Got up on christmas and the Cat had squashed and almost destroued every chrismas bag - he left the parcels alone - He wanted to get in the bags - so instead of Olly he is now named BAGPUs. Also because we are going to Holland on Hogmanay we wilol have to takt the tree down or it will be wrecked!!!! :D :D
Curiosity killed the cat But satisfaction revived it!!

Those who ask can be helped

It sounds like a very naughty cat! :D Ours just tries to eat the tinsel and climb the tree. Oh, and attack the shadow of the tree on the nearby curtains. :(

I am two-thirds of the way through Christmas. We had just the 4 of us on Christmas day (but drinks next door first) the OH's sister and family for Boxing day. And my sisters are visiting tomorrow. Then I am back to work on Tuesday for a rest ;)

Ok, I'm not usually one to complain but I just have to now. I am so miffed. I won a couple of auctions on ebay way back in early October (christmas presents for the little one) well no surprise here, I still don't have them. The seller is insisting that I do. She said it's been delivered  Great, $80 gone. But wait, it gets worse. I ordered puzzles from a company in Germany in September. I've ordered from the company before, so when the puzzles didn't come in in November he sent them again. Still no puzzles! Poof to $200. To make matters worse, I ordered another puzzle from the UK in November that should have taken a week by 1st class registered mail. Guess what. Still no puzzle and the same thing is happening. 25 pounds there. The shop says I have it. Registered and signed for? What
The final straw is that is now 7 days after Gill mailed out the latest issue of Puzzle Brains and I well,  don't have it. And no password either.

This is not a good season for me. But I am sure that someone in the post office is having lots of fun playing with my toys and puzzles. I only hope they can read English! And thank heavens there were no underwear being shipped!

Oh poor you. :( Sounds like a major problem with the post office. Have you been and had a rant at them? There must be a big pile of your stuff and if some has been signed for there should be some paperwork.

After I go to the Passport office with my husband and Daughter AGAIN tomorrow (even though they said I don't have to be there-I do. Dual citizenship is a pain to process. American government says no problem-Those Darned Chinese governmental officials won't accept it and we can't take her across the border unless she gives up her American passport. Then get this: They will issue a visa to put in her American passport) I am heading down to the post office to put in a major complaint. That is a lot of packages to go missing. The puzzles from Germany is actually TWO packages, not just one! I understand all about holiday shipping and things taking longer, but when it goes back 3 or 4 months that's a bit insane!

And I don't even want to get started on the governmental tax issues I'm having with our helper! I can see why people get depressed around the holidays.

The good news is, I read somewhere on here that I should get a password soon so at least I can print the puzzles off! Not that I can do them though. Ohh I hate feeling sorry for myself.

Thanks for the voucher. Right now I am sitting here hitting the refresh button on email waiting (very impatiently) for that password. Not that it will do me much good. No printer at home, and I don't go back into work until the 7th  I guess I'll have to make a special trip in this week when that number hits my inbox.
