My first ever boyfriend invited me to help him strip once.

But his parents were there helping too! :D

Today I'm off to Bun's christening in North Yorkshire, which is why I'm up and about at this silly time on a Sunday morning! We are taking cakes for eighty people for after the service, so it's been like living in a bakery for the last few days.

Mental note - Laura does a cake delivery service for functions... Have a good day!

I'm back to continue stripping... (I REALLY know how to have fun, don't I? )

Important note to Bunnylump's note - Laura's MUM does the cakes, I just help to unload them at the other end!!! The boy behaved himself very well, and turned round and beamed at the congregation after he'd been christened. He got lots of 'Aaaahhh's', and a bumper dose of kisses and cuddles, and his first taste of Wensleydale cheese.

... to Sussex and back this weekend for M-in L's 80th birthday party. Shove ha'penny and jenga were the main games played, but there was much hilarity after lunch when we played Chinese whispers, most of the hilarity being caused by the whispers being mangled by French B-in -L and his dodgy grasp of the English language (even after being married to an English woman for nearly 25 years). So then we tried it in French! Anyway it was nice to see the family and the first time in 5 years that we've all been together.

Got home and decided I have left my boots in the hotel we stayed in last night. :( I'll have to see if someone can pick them up for me.

Phonecall to hotel has tracked down my boots  I had left them where I couldn't miss them, and then tripped over them and stubbed my toe, so I moved them, and then managed to forget them. They say they will keep them for 3 months, so hopefully someone can pick them up in that time, or if we go down for Christmas they should still be there.

well i do like Puerto Rico
but the games club i go to all ready have two sets of that (with alternate buildings/plantations) so can i also wave my hand madly in the air to express interest ;-)
If there were any spare copies... Not only did it sell out on "pre-orders", but there were somewhat fewer copies than expected. Any print run has the potential to be up or down by as much as ten percent, and, alas, Key Market ended up on the down side. (Having said that, I may have one or two "spare" copies in a few weeks, once the rest of the print run has been delivered and sorted out. :))

I had a really good time, although fortunately I didn't have to spend much time on the actual stand since, as noted, there weren't any games to sell! I got to play lots of new games, some of which were very good, and some old favourites as well.

I'm so pleased for you that it's been a success - what a shame you ran out!! We missed you.

As it's so popular will there be a second edition?

Not sure. It's unlikely though - the fact that it sold out doesn't mean it was popular! I know that sounds paradoxical, but you have to realise that the hobby board game market isn't huge, and this game is at the complex end of it - people who play Puero Rico is would probably be interested but when I say "it's got a 16-page rulebook" I can hear eyes glazing over from here. So the likelihood is that most of the people who would be interested in it have already bought it, and there really aren't going to be too many "casual" sales, which would make a second edition a lot more of a risk.

Back to the dentist for the 3rd (and final) tooth extraction :( Lower jaw - very deep - and it fell apart while being removed. NOT a good afternoon :(

She also fitted the new upper denture to fill in the two extractions from that jaw - so at least the gaps are filled and I've got a new set to wear in.

KIDS.... look after your teeth better than I have - they are a weak point for me, but I could have probably done more to help myself

After that there was a further extraction - £200

I spent the working day trying to help people through the testing system of the Internal Jobs Market - but the stupid 3G internet link kept letting us down. The only one that got sorted was ME.

Basically the IJM is a 'dating service' between your skills and the needs of the jobs available within the Council... the problem is there are some basic FACTS not collected - which is why one Library Assistant keeps getting offered van driving jobs despite the fact he can't drive

The sections - literacy / numeracy / personality - and I'm treating the results with a very large pinch of salt. [As an administrator to help others do the test, I got to see my own results ;) ]

I'm supposed to be doing the same job in couple of weeks time, but I think I need to see the organizer before then and see if it is worthwhile with my technology. The idea was I can take my bus to places like the gardener's depots and the sites that the bin-men work out of - but it's no use if it takes forever and keeps failing :(

Sounds like a frustrating day!! And here's hoping that's an end to the tooth problems for a while!

I've bin
sorting out stuff from my Mum's house - 9 bin liners full of stuff taken to the charity shop. I'm SHATTERED - but guess what? My Dad (who is staying here tonight) is asleep on the sofa opposite me, and my husband is asleep on the sofa next to me. Am I REALLY that boring??
