Re: I'm Busy Reading....
I was given it and haven't opened it. I seem to be out of the habit of reading at the moment.

Re: I'm Busy Reading....
Must admit I'd like to read them, just haven't got round to it yet...
Since I was given a Kindle for Christmas, I've been happily exploring the freebies you can get for it. Have discovered one called 'The Book of Deacon' (first of a trilogy, the others costing a massive £1.95 each) which I've really enjoyed. Just a basic fantasy book really, but (apart from needing a decent editor) rather good.

Re: I'm Busy Reading....
Of course that's the whole issue with e-publishing isn't it?
The reason books cost money is because you actually do need people like editors and proof-readers!
Just because a book is being published electronically doesn't mean you can dispense with them...

OK how many of us besides Red Fraggle and myself are admitting to reading 50 shades of Grey? Don't know about the Fraggle, but my eyes are watering (not in a soppy way!)
I don't have hot flushes. I have short holidays in the Tropics.

Brave girls
I've heard about this series (but not done more than flick through them in WH Smiths) [Or should that be "whip through them"?
]. It was funny listening to two young women (20ish?) looking for a copy in the bookshop over the weekend.

Re: I'm Busy Reading....
Personally, I think I'd recommend Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel series instead - if only because they have got an actual plot and interesting characters to go alongside the S&M excitement.

Re: I'm Busy Reading....
Well, it depends on what you are reading it for. If you want a story, then yes, I'd recommend the Kushiel series, but if you just want a bit of fun with not too much story interfering with the S&M, then 50 SoG is probably a good bet, even if it is just a rewrite of Man with a Maid.
And yes, I'm reading it - just not on the tram to work....

50 Shades of Grey is
but it's got a good story. Im intrigued though I would NOT be tempted myself
There are quite a few of us in school that have read it. It's like an EXTREME Mills & Boon

Re: I'm Busy Reading....
Well Mills & Boon are still the most successful publishing house in history, so it's not that much of a surprise that a slightly more exotic version would catch on. The odd thing is why it should have happened now - it's not even as though books like this weren't published before.

Re: I'm Busy Reading....
my best friend said she didn't think it was a good one for a bookclub, but that is Ok cos most of the office is reading it and in the debrief every morning we have a quick round up of where we have got in the book.

I've just choked over those comments from Strep and MBH
MBH you will have to read this book and then decide what camp you are in
But i can tell you it makes us all laugh when someone comes into the staffroom and says 'I need a SUB'
