I'm still up for a visit to London to fit in with you LAT (and anyone else who wants to come). There is now a possibility that a few of us can meet up for a day in half term in the Cotswolds too. If it all works out I'll post details here in case anyone else wants to come too.

It depends on the dates for the SUMS thing Gill. I will try to come if I am here (and not in Corfu or at work!!)

OK here's an interim update while I wait for people to get back to me.

Giraffe (and possible girafflets), Gill and I are thinking of meeting up in the Cotswolds during half term (it's looking like the first Wednesday in June) for the day. It is POSSIBLE that a couple of others might be joining us (but haven't confirmed yet). LAT would like to come but has month end accounts to deal with, but will try to make it if she can. Hot contender looks like Bourton on the Water for lunch and then a wander around and general get together. Everyone welcome. Please pm me for details and updates.

LAT and Biscuit are possibly up for a day trip to London, (which Giraffe probably can’t do) and I know that LAT and I are both free on
June 19th
July 10th
August 7th
18th Sept (Looby can't do this one)
23rd Sept

My preference from this list is August 7th (just because it’s in the summer holidays), but if other dates are better for others, that’s fine AS LONG AS YOU TELL ME SOON. :D Again, please pm me if you are interested and I'll give you updates.

Gill is happy to host a puzzly SUMS “week” (drop in when you can) in Leeds date to be announced, probably at the end of August (which LAT and I can’t make). If you're interested in this please pm Gill.

I know this is all a bit bitty, but it’s the best I can do with the dates I’ve been given. If anyone is able to join in with any of this, please let me know as soon as possible.

Anyone who wants to join in on the Cotswolds meet up who needs a lift, let me know – so far we have 3 drivers all of whom are prepared to give lifts. :D

7th August is probably going to be ideal for me for a London day out. I need to be in Colchester by 8th.

Excellent. We'll try to aim for that then. Any one else interested? The more the merrier! :D

Cotswold meet.

If anyone wants a lift from the midlands eg B'ham International Station then please pm me. I'll be joining the M6 at Gailey (J13 I think) (then M6toll?) then heading down M40 probably.

edit: just looked at a map, to see where Bourton on the water is and could also head down M5 (might be shorter route), if that route is more helpful to anyone else.

I'm going from Hertfordshire and driving there, um, somehow. Happy to transport anyone who's either en route or able to get to near me for a pick up. I could also pick up folk from train stations and bus stops in the Cotswolds if that helps.

Evening All!

Haven't been on the Forum I see since January, as those of you who have peeked at the facebook thingy will have noticed Ann is in a wheelchair whenever we have to go any distance (more than 10 yards) and this means we are trying to find a buyer for the caravan. I don't want it to go but 'er indoors doesn't want to know anymore.
Sorry about not replying to the text Giraffe, but I didn't get it.
Still doing the radio and involved in Rugby administration, but that will have to go at the end of the season as I can't dash off with a team to Twickenham (or whereever) and leave Ann on her own.
So it looks like I am out for the foreseeable future, although I am going to Newcastle with Ann this weekend to watch the Lancs v Northumberland game and Ann is coming with me. Hotel for three nights so this is just testing the water and see how she is when we get back.
Went to South wales for the wedding a fortnight ago (the members of the rugby committee I chair were saying the weeding was my Mother and father) and we used the Premier group of hotels for the first time - pretty basic but clean and warm with friendly staff and if you book well ahead this £29.00 per room they keep advertising kicks in.

Thanks for being thought of occasionally
Brian

I have not responded so far, as it would be quite difficult for me to promise anything in advance. But I am certainly interested in a meet in London and might be able to do either July 10 or August 7 - or possibly September (depending on needing to be Grandma sometime that month!)

Oh, Brian, sorry to hear Ann's not been able to get about so well and that you're having to get rid of the caravan. Big shame you can't come and keep us all in line too - but do keep in touch, won't you? :D

Wulfruna - I know it's hard to commit to things when they are so far in the future, but it would be lovely to meet you if you are able to come.

London meet update
LAT has come up with some wonderful sounding suggestions for places to visit in London. When I have a better idea of who's coming (so far I have me, LAT, Gill, Scurra, possible Wulfruna on the list!) we'll firm up the plan and publish to see who else we can entice!!

Yes, look, I'm still alive. Should be able to manage 7 August in London. Not quite sure about the Cotswolds as on a first Wednesday I usually work in the evening and would need to be back about 5 which would make a short day. But I may be able to get out of it just for once if I'm cunning. And I am.

How wonderful, I'm so pleased you can come to the London trip - if you can make the Cotswolds one too that would be EVEN better. :D
