Re: Today I've mostly bin...
...Looking at wedding dresses! Yes, I know it's not for another year and a half, but she wanted to start getting ideas. So we spent about an hour and a half in a hot wedding dress shop, while she tried things on. She looked so beautiful in them, I nearly cried. Her bridesmaids, who were also there, judging, will be a difficult pair to find dresses for. One is about 4 feet 9 and the other one is about 19 stone...

You've been seeing other strange men behind my back? Why doesn't that surprise me..?

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Well, clearly I wouldn't have taken a tin dog for a coffee. I could have taken you for an oil change instead.
Note to Clyde: I've now sent my slave off to pay our dues to the Italian Mafia, so we may not have to leave the country after all. When's the next bank job again?? Unfortunately, the only getaway driver I could locate at short notice was Scurra. Which could be a bit of a problem.
Today I am trying to weigh up just how stupid an idea it is to go for a picnic with Janet (it's her birthday)...

I'm sure Scurra would be the perfect get away driver
I'm sure he'd leave a clue for the cops but i wouldn't belive they could solve it

I suppose it might help if he could drive...but minor detail, I'd say.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I've been eyeing up blueprints and I think there may be a service tunnel from the trapdoor behind the counter which could be extended to reach the bank vault. I'm pretty sure the muzak system will cover any noise of digging, so there would be no alarms, and a ricksha getaway vehicle should be good enough.

Scurra would be no good for rickshaw either - doesn't that require you to ride a bike?

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
The original ones just involved someone picking one up and running. And frankly I think they'd prefer me driving to trying to pull a rickshaw. It'd be a good disguise though, because it would look so ridiculous no-one would believe it was suspicious.eirian wrote:Scurra would be no good for rickshaw either - doesn't that require you to ride a bike?

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
I thought a ricksha was a foot-pulled version of rickshaw to be honest, but I think I should have said jinricksha http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/jinriksha
The "hiding in plain sight" by doing something that looks ridiculous (Scurra, you'd have to wear the bunny ears of course) was something I thought should be part of the plan.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Snort! I just got back from the continuation of Janet's birthday ( it's been going on and off all day long) and read this. The thought of Scurra pulling a rickshaw / squirwrickshaw or whatever it was in bunny ears as our getaway driver actually has me in paroxysms of laughter on the floor for about two minutes.
Thank you, I needed that.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
With Weymouth and Portland being the sailing venue, it feels like it's become the 34th London Borough. Feeling all Olympicked out, I decided to take a break yesterday and headed Up North - to Dorchester. (There used to be a sign at the side of the road when leaving Weymouth saying "Welcome to the North". )
However, approaching the main roundabout on the south side, there were a load of Olympic banners in various colours flying. And when I finally got into the town centre and looked round the shops, I spotted that there was a competition on. Various shops were displaying flags in the windows, and each one had a number.
The idea seemed to be to make a list of the countries, presumably in numerical order. Some of the flags were fairly easy (Switzerland, China, Italy), some were a bit harder (Bolivia, Ecuador) and some would only be recognised by someone who was a bit of a flag nut (Equatorial Guinea, for example).
So my attempt to escape the Olympics for a bit were not as successful as I had wished.

I decided to do Olympic avoidance by taking a friend out for a nice walk in the countryside, with me map reading... Well, we only got lost once... and we only got rained on once, too.

Re: Today I've mostly bin...
Today we have been visiting two different hospitals. Ivan's parents and niece were involved in a bad car crash yesterday. It's quite serious and Ivan's mum has multiple fractures including her neck, back and sternum. There were a lot of people and an ambulance involved in the crash. It seems like we get through one tragedy and another happens.
