That certainly sounds better.

I've been back to work today. :(
But at least we were allowed to leave early. Hope the same applies tomorrow.

....waving bye-bye to Thomas and his dutiful attendants after a wonderful Christmas. He is a real little treasure, full of smiles and laughter and coming out with the most amazing comments - it would make a "what kids say" thread all on his own

...Going to the doctor to get antibiotics and ear drops, which are helping neither my ear (which sounds like I have a freight train in it) nor my lack of balance. I keep ending up in a dizzy heap. :(

.... escorting Thomas home again. He really loved his visit :-D
(I think what really got Wulfruna was this morning, when I'd coughed (some water went down the wrong way) and Thomas told me to put my hand over my mouth  )

Bunny - hope you are feeling better soon. It's horrid when your balance goes :(

Quote (in a very prim voice) "Put your hand over your mouth when you cough"
Earlier he found my torch and solemnly told me "I know how to switch this on" (and pushed the slider) "You use it at night when you go outside". Not bad for a 4-year-old.....

...... oh and later on today I've also waved goodbye to my own little jester, off on his way home (and hoping for a better journey than the one here!)

Love it. Although somehow I don't imagine he will... There's your street cred shredded forever, Scurra...

Having said that, my son sent a message to me before Christmas signed "from your little soldier." He's 23.

...Actually getting out of the house! Went for a nice walk in the beautiful sunshine to Mum's wood, walked through Ashridge to Ivinghoe Beacon, and watched at least 70 fallow deer running right in front of us. :D

Just heard from Dibble, who is in Moscow at the moment. Initial comments are
1. It's ONLY minus 4.
2. The Kremlin is amazing.
3. Russians are "weird" and don't queue!!

...Enjoying the beautiful sunshine. Did the last of the 25 "walks in Dacorum" - which included having to wade through a flooded road and get lunch at a village pub where the chef had walked out, so we got treated to the delights of sandwiches made with white bread (Mother's Pride variety!!!) along with a heap of hastily sliced iceberg lettuce and some tomato, made by the elderly landlady who was also serving at the bar. It was rather like going back in time to the 1970s...

The exposure to the sunshine has done me a lot of good though, even if we are caked in mud!

I'm now sitting in a big unhealthy heap with a glass of wine in front of the (new) telly. We finally had to give up on the ancient cathode ray one which was about 18" deep(because it broke) in favour of a skinny little Panasonic number which has all sorts of exciting things on the home screen that I don't understand. Oh, and it has a section utilising my all time most hated word...APPS. Is it JUST me that finds that a really irritating term?? Anyway, I'm currently watching a thing about the discovery of DNA and have realised that the man who's talking about it is Dibble's supervisor at UCL (Steve Jones)!!

Wow. I've got about four books by him on my bookshelf... :D
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.

Today, I've dug the whole vegetable patch and planted my first ever raspberry canes. I've always wanted to grow raspberries - I remember picking them at my granddad's house when I was little - but we didn't have space at the old house. So now I finally have my own supply of lovely raspberries - providing I don't manage to kill them off before they fruit!!!

I have managed not to kill mine off so they must be fairly hardy, in fact they have multiplied like mad in just a few years, and some years I am overrun with fruit!

I used to have all sorts of vegetable plots and fruit beds. But I could never keep on top of the weeding. I eventually reduced it down to a wooden pallet containing compost which I was growing things like strawberries in. But the foxes and other people's cats seem to think that's a great giant litter tray, so I abandoned that as well.

I did another 25metres of bunting this weekend...about as exciting as my life gets, lately...

And what's the betting you will get wet soggy weather tomorrow and Durham will be bright and sunny!

I've just finished adding labels to all the photos I took in China. Well not even to all of them, just the three albums' worth I got printed. Only 15 months after the trip.
Moving on to our holiday in Cornwall last September next. :)
