The only Eric I associate with football would be Cantona, but I have no idea if he played for Leeds, and I would have thought 1991 was a bit early for him, but I might be wrong.

Yes, it was Eric Cantona. He makes me laugh, makes such random comments - e.g. after a trial he apparently said "When seagulls follow the trawler it is because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea," before striding out of the press conference.

The other Erics were:

The Eric who was famous for starring in The Plank SYKES
The Eric who was involved in organising Miss World MORLEY
The Eric who sang "I'd go the whole wide world" in 1977 WRECKLESS ERIC
The Eric who was born John Eric Bartholomew in 1926 MORECAMBE
The well-endowed woman who ran in across the pitch at Twickenham in 1982 ERICA ROE

I meant to say, there was also a round "things you really shouldn't know" such as

How many children does Katie Price have?
Who narrates The Only Way is Essex?
What are Prince George's middle names?
Which boy band star won Strictly in 2011?

We did so badly on this round that we won a bottle of wine!

I could have a guess at Prince George, but have no idea on the others.

I'd go for Harry & Aliona winning strictly in 2011, but I can't remember his surname, and I can't remember whether he's from McFly or Busted, but I think it's one of them. Not a clue on the others though, or any of the Erics.

I went a couple of years ago and there were definitely more butterflies then. Good thing was we didn't have to queue and it wasn't crowded - but I think later might be better. There were lots of pupae in the cabinet waiting to emerge. I put some piccies on Facebook

We've just had a earthquake here - lasted about 5 seconds. The whole house was shaking!

Is everything OK? You haven't had any damage, have you? I just looked it up on Google, the Earthquakes Today site said it was magnitude 3.8!

No, everything ok, just felt the house shuddering.
I've just looked it up too - that's classed as a minor earthquake - nothing too serious.

Yes, definitely. Thank goodness we don't get them very often.

...cold!

Got home today from two days away to find the central heating won't come on. :(
We have a gas fire which is just about taking the chill off and an immersion heater so we can get some hot water but the whole house is very cold and I feel chilled through.

Oh no, LAT! What a nightmare! Ours was playing up the other week, fortunately I have a handy engineer on 24 hour call out! Hope you get it sorted quickly.

...Actually, thinking about it, he fitted our bathroom too, so I suppose he does have some uses...

We went to try to get our mobile phones upgraded today. I think it says it all when I tell you that the man in the EE shop was on the phone to his head office trying to sort out our query and his phone battery died! Doesn't exactly inspire confidence, does it? :?

Lally's school phoned me yesterday to change the time of a meeting I was due to have last night. Unfortunately they left a message on my mobile. I can't work out how to retrieve a message from it, or turn voicemail off, so it's a good job Lally texted me to make sure I knew about the change of time. I don't give anyone my mobile number (I have it for my convenience not their's) as they ring when I am driving, but school have it because they inform us of school closures by text. I'm sure I will have told them to only use it for texts, but they probably didn't read the instructions.

I have a tame engineer too, Bunnylump, but unfortunately he doesn't do bathrooms, or heating. If I needed a power station building in the garden or a railway line electrifying he would be my go to man.

That could just mean the EE man talks too much I suppose.

N rang the chap who has done the last couple of services on our boiler only to find out he has now retired so we are having to try someone new to us. Just hope he can fix it. I don't have a tame engineer. :(

Giraffe, is your phone on Orange or EE? Because if it is then you phone 123 and it rings the voicemail.
